The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Christopher Cousins is joining the cast in an intriguing new role, so look for him to make his debut as Alan Laurent starting Tuesday, April 30.
Cousins’ stint is for multiple episodes and will tie in with Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) mental health storyline since Alan shares a connection with her.
Y&R fans may recall that Ashley talked about having a friend in Paris.
After Ashley sought answers at the café where she fought with Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), she told Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) that she planned to meet with this friend of hers and talk things out.
Ashley later admitted that friend was a psychiatrist, but he helped her as a pal rather than her formal doctor.
Now that this doc is set to appear in the form of Christopher Cousins, Alan may worry that he missed the warning signs and didn’t see just how much mental distress Ashley was facing.
Of course, Ashley’s situation got far worse once she got back to Genoa City, especially after that car accident triggered painful memories of the past.
Maybe Alan will compare notes with Ashley’s psychiatrist in GC and try to nail down the exact timeline regarding her dissociative identity disorder.
Whatever the case, we have no doubt that Christopher Cousins will rise to the challenge when it comes to his latest soap role.
Cousins has plenty of experience when it comes to daytime dramas since he played characters on Another World, As the World Turns, One Life to Live and General Hospital.
