On April 16, Spotify unveiled a pop-up exhibit at The Grove in Los Angeles, offering Swifties an opportunity to explore a library-themed space filled with subtle hints about Swift’s forthcoming album.
The pop-up, open until April 18, has been meticulously curated to reflect the essence of the new record. According to a press release from Spotify, it will be refreshed daily with new elements, offering a unique experience each day.
Besides featuring a book with new lyrics from the album, it also boasts an array of imagery that seemingly hints at the content of the forthcoming album. This is all alongside potential references to her past relationship with actor Joe Alwyn.
One ‘Tortured Poets’ Pop Up Piece Hinted at One of Taylor Swift’s Past, More Subdued Relationships
One piece on display in particular hinted at lyrics from upcoming songs, believed by fans to be about her relationship with Alwyn. “Even statues crumble / If they’re made to wait,” an open book reads, its pages eagerly spread, rests upon a delicate white doily, surrounded by an array of dried flowers.
While the exact song is unclear, internet sleuths quickly shared theories online. Some suggested Swift wanted to marry Alwyn, who apparently did not feel the same way. “Omgggg she was so excited to marry him she would’ve marry him with paper rings but he was just wasting time,” one fan gushed on X. Another fan speculated, “she waited six years for that ring…”
However, another fan pointed out that Alwyn’s rejection of the billionaire pop queen was written in the heavens. For had he not spurned poor Swift’s desire to marry, her true star-crossed suitor would never have been. If she did, she never would have met her true love which is clearly Travis!”,” the fan declared.
