Selena Gomez’s schedule is booked. A rundown of the singer/actor/beauty mogul’s most recent projects alone includes a new season of “Only Murders in the Building,” a reboot of the 1980s classic “Working Girl,” a new Rare Beauty launch, an upcoming season of “Selena + Chef,” and a fourth studio album expected to drop sometime in 2023. Between balancing her acting career, music, and commitment to initiating nationwide conversations about mental health, Gomez is busy. But we’d better enjoy her nonstop roster of projects while it lasts, because the “OMITB” star plans to “peace out” eventually.

Speaking with Raquelle Stevens and Ashley Cook, two of her best friends, in a recent episode of the TaTaTu series “Giving Back Generation,” Gomez explains that, after 20 years in the entertainment industry, her plans for the future involve stepping off screen and settling down to start a family. “I hope to be married and to be a mom,” she says during the Aug. 5 interview. “Eventually, I’m going to be tired of all this, so I’m probably just going to devote most of my life to philanthropy before I peace out. . . . Just keeping it real.”

“I have to basically watch this little person grow into a human being, and there’s no better feeling in the world.”

Gomez tells Cook and Stevens that her younger sister Gracie has already ignited that “parent” feeling inside her. “You guys have definitely been my rainbow in a lot of moments,” she says. “I’ll say my little sister and my family [have, too]. [Gracie] is 8 years old, and she puts things into perspective. I have to basically watch this little person grow into a human being, and there’s no better feeling in the world. I kind of feel like a parent, in a way, even though I’m not. But it’s so rewarding to see that life was so simple at one point, and I want to enjoy life, sometimes, the way she enjoys life.”

The star also babysat Jessica Simpson’s 10-year-old daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson, recently. During their time together, Gomez took Johnson to her first concert: Olivia Rodrigo. Has there ever been a cooler babysitter?

“I went and hung out with somebody who’s a little bit older, and it was just so wonderful. It was like being taken care of, in a way.”

In addition to fun moments with her future kids, Gomez hopes to have a husband who she can share those experiences with. On July 21, Gomez’s Nana crashed her TikTok beauty tutorial when she asked, “So how did you end it with that guy?,” prompting the Rare Beauty founder to freeze, lip liner in hand, and reply, “Uh, I’ll tell you in a second!”

While the singer has kept recent details about her love life private, she tells Stevens and Cook that a recent date inspired her to reflect on her love languages. “I want a husband, and I want that kind of [physical] touch,” she says. “I think my love languages would have to be physical touch and, I actually would say, acts of service. The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve really appreciated that.”

“I wouldn’t have guessed that,” Stevens says. In response, Gomez adds, “I do believe your love languages change, and we are a little bit of every single one of them. But I went and hung out with somebody who’s a little bit older, and it was just so wonderful. It was like being taken care of, in a way. It was like being like, ‘Are you comfortable? Do you want a blanket?’ Just very sweet things, and I was like, ‘I’m fine. I don’t need any of it.’ But it was just so kind, and I don’t feel like a lot of people are like that anymore.”

While Gomez has yet to share further details about her mystery date, we can’t wait to see what her future as an actor, a singer, a philanthropist, and a beauty mogul — and, potentially, a parent — has in store.
