Following the release of their debut album ‘Konami Code’ in 2019, the band’s new album arrives today (May 10) via Smartpunk Records.

Featuring previously released singles ‘Made 4 Love’, ‘everything is miserable & i am brooding alone in my dark dark room’, and the brilliantly titled ‘Kevin Pickles & the Great Pool Noodle Excursion’, ‘Casually Crashing’ is a vulnerable record, delving into vocalist/guitarist Cora Kunda’s experience with coming out as trans to her family in the wake of losing her grandfather.

To celebrate the album’s release, the band have shared closing track ‘Halley’, which Cora had the following to say about:

“’Halley’ was actually the first song we wrote for the record. It catalogs the reflection I experienced in the aftermath of my grandfather’s lost battle with lung cancer after coming out to what remained of my family.

“Throughout my adolescence he stood as a beacon of security to me and his death signalled the decline of my household’s stability. Unfortunately I never felt comfortable enough to share with him my confusion about my gender even though I felt certain he would still love me regardless.

“Due to a predominantly christian upbringing I was deeply ashamed that I wasn’t the son my parents so desperately wanted and as a result hid my identity as long as possible for safety. After coming out, tensions rose for years between my mother and I and we nearly severed our relationship permanently as a result. In turn, I found solace in both the local music I became a part of and the family I wove within the network of friends in the Indianapolis DIY scene. ‘Halley’ tries to express the importance of being truthful with those you love because at the end of the day, all our time together is finite.”
