OSCAR-winner Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Tommy Shelby in the Peaky Blinders movie.
Writer Steven Knight confirmed shooting would begin in September and said: “He definitely is returning for it.”
It ends months of speculation that Cillian would return as the Brummie gangster-turned-MP.
Until now, he has been non-committal about a return.
In 2022, he said: “I’d be as excited as anybody to read a script.
“But I think it’s good for everyone to have a little break.
“That’s always a healthy thing, and then we can regroup.”
Knight also praised Cillian after he won a Best Actor Oscar for his role in Oppenheimer.
He said: “Cillian is brilliant. He’s such a great human being . . . so level headed and straight forward.
“He deserves everything he gets.”
