During Friday’s episode, Jeopardy! star Juveria Zaheer won the Champions Wildcard title.

Fans soon shared on an online forum that there seemed to be a change that mainly took place during the Wildcard tournament.

It all had to do with one of the show’s most iconic aspects – the Daily Double.

The original online poster asked fellow users, “Has anyone else noticed the frequency with which daily doubles appear in the $400 and $800 slots spike recently?”

“Seems like it has happened a lot more during the most recent wildcard tournament,” they added. “Anyone else notice this or read/heard anything from Jeopardy to this effect?”

Others jumped in to assure the original poster that they, too, noticed the same thing.

Many said they think it makes it harder for contestants, and some said they like the change because of the difficulty level.

“My understanding is they spread them out because everyone was finding them at the bottom more quickly,” one fan wrote.

“Yeah, I noticed, I thought it might be a deliberate choice to make hunting for the DDs a bit harder,” another viewer commented on the forum.

“Of course, that means that the clues for the lower value slots should be easier, once you find them,” the user added.

“I like it,” one viewer insisted. “Means they’re not found as quickly.”

They explained, “Recently I’ve felt like they’ve been found SO quickly, that scores don’t even get too high because the contestants don’t have much to bet.”

“I like them being up there,” another fan agreed. “Gives more time to build up a bank to bet with when they find them.”

“Though frequently they treat them as the ‘Daily $2000’ vs the ‘Daily Double,’” the fan continued.

The Champions Wildcard tournament came to a close on Friday with star Juveria winning in the finals.

Despite a huge setback in game one of the finale, Juveria beat Andy Tirrell and Michael Menkhus, winning $100,000 and a Tournament of Champions ticket.
