EAGLE-EYED fans of The Santa Clause have noticed a secret hidden detail in the movie nearly three decades after its release.

Film lovers fear the easter eggs have a ‘sinister’ meaning after only just spotting them popping up throughout the 1994 Disney classic.

The Santa Clause stars Hollywood actor Tim Allen as Scott Calvin. When Father Christmas dramatically falls off his roof, Scott is recruited to replace him.

Scott’s new role means he is able to reconnect with his six-year-old son Charlie, while also suddenly finding himself with eight reindeer and millions of presents to deliver around the world.

But only now have fans of the movie spotted that many of the ‘children’ who appear in it have elf ears.

This means Santa had an entire network of undercover elves working for him the entire time – and some fear they “orchestrated” his roof fall.

One movie buff shared his findings in a video on TikTok.

He says: “So with it being the holiday season, I’m watching a good old classic – The Santa Clause.

“Of course I know there was hidden elves throughout the film and these elves at the very end show themselves and you get to see them walk away. But did you know about them at the beginning?”

He explains by showing a little girl during the opening credits, who is hiding elf ears under her curly blonde hair while looking in the window of a toy shop.

The chap then shows another secret elf ‘child’ eyeing Scott and Charlie in a restaurant, one that is sitting behind Charlie in his school classroom and another one queuing up on the sports field.

But not everyone is warmed by the idea of Santa’s secret minions.

One person wrote on TikTok: “The Santa Clause elves were hidden agents from the start!”

Another said: “Wait… WAH?!?! The whole time?!?!”

Hinting at a sinister, underlying plot twist, another wrote: “The fact they were watching him BEFORE he became Santa seems like they orchestrated the end of Santa and Scott becoming the new one….”

And someone else agreed: “Due to all of them before he was Santa there is a popular theory that the previous Santa’s fall wasn’t an accident.”

The Santa Clause ended up being a three-part movie franchise.

It won a People’s Choice Award the year after its release for Favourite Comedy Motion Picture, while Eric Lloyd – who played Charlie – received numerous industry award nominations for his acting.
