The split came amid speculation that Gavin had been unfaithful in the marriage.

While Gavin has kept quiet about their divorce, he recently opened up about feeling “shameful” on the most recent episode of the Amy & TJ podcast.

“I never thought I’d ever get divorced. So there’s a simple shame in my life,” he said.

“I feel bad for my kids, that’s it,” Gavin further explained.

“I wish I could have found a way to not have that in their lives. It wasn’t fun for me to come from a broken home… It can be quite debilitating for kids… the overriding things is you don’t want to let your kids down.”

“The biggest thing would be when you see the kids that sometimes there’s a loss. It’d be nice if there was more of a connection with the person who made them with me,” he added.

Gavin and Gwen share sons Kingston, 17; Zuma, 15; and Apollo, 10.

After part of his interview was shared on Instagram, fans slammed the Bush frontman for his former actions.

The backlash came after insiders previously revealed Gavin had been cheating on Gwen with their nanny, Mindy Mann.

“You cheated? You didn’t think you’d get divorced? What did you think would happen lol,” one person wrote.

“Did he feel bad for the kids…while he was cheating?” a second wrote.

“Men have all the audacity, he literally cheated on her,” said a third.
