General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Laura Wright (Carly Spencer) recently opened up about her thoughts on Carly’s love life. Now that Carly and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) are over, who should Carly be paired with next?
Nothing is set in stone since the new GH writing team is just getting started, but SOD spoke to Wright about some obvious options and got her take on them.
Wright’s answers about who Carly should and shouldn’t be with just might surprise you.
For starters, Wright was asked about John Brennan (Charles Mesure) since many viewers saw some sizzling chemistry and the potential for a romance.
It turns out Wright likes the idea of a Carly and Brennan pairing a lot.
“I could definitely see him being a really great pairing for Carly, honestly.
His dynamic, his strength, his no B.S. [attitude]…And I think he’s someone that can handle her — and I don’t mean handle her, like, physically, but handle her antics,” Wright said.
Wright also suggested that Brennan might even be charmed by those antics since he’s pretty tough to handle as well.
Rule-following boyfriends don’t really understand Carly and accept her shenanigans, but Brennan is definitely more of a rule-breaker and would get it.
Wright also mentioned how much she enjoyed working with Charles Mesure, who’s a wonderful actor in her eyes.
It sounds like Wright would be 100-percent on board with Carly and Brennan getting together if the show ever lets him out of prison.
Laura Wright was asked about John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) next, so she gushed over how much fun it was having Harrington on set and said she was “interested to see where it all goes, too!”
Finally, Wright addressed the possibility of Carly and Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) romantic reunion, but she confessed that she doesn’t think it seems likely under the circumstances.
It was one thing to do a Jason and Carly pairing when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was in Nixon Falls and presumed deceased.
It’s quite another to make Carly and Jason a couple when Sonny’s in Port Charles.
Wright just doesn’t think Jason and Carly are going to be together like that if Sonny’s in the picture.
“I don’t feel like they can live in the same town with Sonny and function. I think they just have to be alone,” Wright admitted.
It was interesting to hear Laura Wright’s predictions and get her perspective on some of the potential leading men in Carly’s world.
