PAUL Walter Hauser has caused a stir on social media during his Emmys speech.

The Hollywood actor took home the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his role as Larry Hall in Black Bird.

As the star went up to accept his award, fans noticed that Paul was chewing gum.

Viewers flooded X, formerly known as Twitter, with their honest thoughts and opinions.

One wrote: “Paul Walter Hauser, GET RID OF THE GUM. That was disgusting.”

“Paul Walter Hauser smacking his lips while chewing gum was not only too much, but disgusting and rude,” stated a second.

A third tweeted: “Paul Walter Hauser really couldn’t like…spit out the gum before going on stage? It’s giving trashy.”

A fourth defended Paul: “f anything, that casualness makes me like him more.”

Many also noticed that Paul was holding his Emmy upside down while reading off his thank you’s off his Apple iPhone.

Paul’s speech wasn’t the only moment that went viral on Monday night’s award show.

Carson Daly, 50, was pushed into the spotlight after he was handed Ayo Edebiri’s purse as she was announced the winner of an Emmy award.
