Stone’s playful jab at Swift stems from their decade-long friendship.

The “Out of the Woods” singer, with whom Stone has been friends since they first met in 2008 at the Young Hollywood Awards, famously released the re-recorded album “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” with a vault track titled “When Emma Falls in Love.”

While the song has sparked speculation about being dedicated to the Oscar award winner, the “Cruella” actress has remained elusive in interviews, suggesting only Swift can confirm the inspiration.

On her part, Swift performed the song during her Eras Tour, describing it as written about “one of [her] best friends.”

The just concluded Golden Globe Awards turned out to be a remarkable night for Stone, as she clinched Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture: Musical or Comedy for her role in “Poor Things.”

Facing stiff competition from Alma Pöysti in “Fallen Leaves,” Fantasia Barrino in “The Color Purple” (2023), Jennifer Lawrence in “No Hard Feelings,” Margot Robbie in “Barbie,” and Natalie Portman in “May December,” the 35-year-old expressed gratitude on stage, acknowledging her husband, Dave McCrary.

In her heartfelt speech to her husband, she said: “Thank you. Dave, I have to start with you really quickly. I love you so much. Thank you for everything.” She also extended thanks to co-stars Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, and Ramy Youssef.

When asked about the genre of the film, she said, per Daily Mail: “I think this is a rom-com. I see this as a rom-com, but in the sense that Bella falls in love with life itself, rather than a person, and she accepts the good and the bad in equal measure, and that really made me look at life differently.”

Stone added, “Not all of it counts, and all of it is important. She has stayed with me deeply. So this means the world to me. Thank you so much, and, okay, bye. Thank you.”
