David Beckham Shirtless Does 1,000 Push Ups in New Video

David Beckham is showing off his pushup game — shirtless, of course. In a new Instagram video the football legend shows off her famously fit body while perfectly executing pushups. “998, 999, 1000,” he captioned the video. Aside from pushups, how does the sports star approach fitness? Celebwell has all the details. 

Push Ups are one of the most common exercises, but many people struggle to do a few of them – let alone 1,000! One recent survey found that most Americans can’t complete five in a row, and over half the 1,400 people included on the survey admitted they can’t complete 10 push-ups in a row.

In Beckham’s clip he perfectly demonstrates how to do a push up, using a pair of dumbbells, which helps him stay in a neutral position and keeps him grounded. 

“I could never keep up with the level of the workouts I was doing when I was playing professional football,” Beckham confessed to Men’s Health in 2022. “And obviously, I’m getting older now as well… I need to train with people. I’m not very good at training on my own, so I need to be motivated by people in a community environment.”

You can pump it like Beckham with his DB45 workout. In an Instagram video he does elevated split squats, box jumps, running in place, and more. “Got to create my own workout with @gunnarfitness for @f45_training, can’t wait for you all to try it (raised hands emoji),” he captioned it. “It’s obviously tailored to what I used to do in my career, some of the exercises,” Beckham told The Associated Press, adding, “We never tailor anything to any specific sport or athlete because our community is not about athletes. Yes, there’s some people that are ex-athletes that come into F45, but this is not a workout designed only for elite athletes.” It involves 11 stations, each one being football-themed, including “midfield” stations that work on agility and “defenders” stations targeting functional resistance training. 

Beckham also stays active with his family by hiking. “Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between,” says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.
