Anne Twist has announced her first ever event for Betty and the Mysterious Visitor

For years we’ve written about the amazing things Anne Twist has done to raise awareness for various charities and good causes now we are super excited to tell you all Anne has announced her first event as children’s author for her book Betty and the Mysterious Visitor.

In September Anne will release her debut book, Betty and the Mysterious Visitor, which features beautiful illustrations from children’s illustrator Emily Sutton.

Betty and the Mysterious Visitor’ is a beautiful celebration of nature. Anne’s inspiration for the book came from reading to her now grown-up children, Gemma and Harry when they were young. Bedtime stories were a huge part of their upbringing. In writing her book Anne hopes others will find as much joy in those precious moments with their children as she did.

In 2017 Anne began to write poetry as a way to cope with the loss of her beloved husband Robin and navigate through her grief. Her beautiful garden in the Cheshire countryside became a huge source of inspiration for her as she honed her craft.

Betty loves visiting Grandma and playing in her beautiful garden, Acorn Hollows. It is her most favourite place in the whole world! Together they tend to Grandma’s wildflowers and berry bushes, and even make jam to sell at the local farmers market. But when a mysterious creature starts destroying the Hollows, Betty is determined to find a way to stop it. Can she come up with a plan to save their beloved garden?

Anne discussed the book in a recent video for one of the books publishers, Candlewick on their Youtube channel. In the video which was shot in Anne’s own back garden, which proved to be a huge source of inspiration for the story, she talks about the plot and how she discovered her passion for writing.

The new virtual event will see Anne and Emily team up with Houston based book store Blue Willow Books via zoom to talk all about the new book.

It’s very exciting as it is the first event of it’s type that Anne has done, ticket holders will be able to hear her talk about the book and her inspiration for it. They will also be able to submitted questions related to the book in advance for her and Emily to be asked during the event.

Ticket holders will also get a copy of the book and a book plate signed by Anne (while stocks last).

You can book tickets for the event on 10 September and find out all the info here!
