JEOPARDY! fans were left emotionally unsound after a $200 rock music clue elicited three distinctly ridiculous incorrect responses.
Last Friday, none of the contestants could guess Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth – but they all certainly tried.

Amar Kakirde, who wound up amassing four wins and $55,899 total, faced Anna Marie Cunningham and Has Karbalai.
In the Jeopardy! round, the lowest-value “Our First Concert” clue was selected, and Ken Jennings read it to the players.
It was, “I was there in 2007 when this original lead singer for Van Halen reunited with the band for a concert tour.”
The correct answer was David Lee Roth.
Anna Marie incorrectly guessed, “Who is Sam Kinison?” who is a late comedian, not a musician.
Has incorrectly guessed, “Who is Vedder?” as in the lead singer of Pearl Jam.
Amar tied things off by incorrectly guessing, “Who is Eddie Van Halen?” – the guitarist of Van Halen.
Ken, 49, ruled, “No, I’m sorry!”

With a handwave, the host lightened the mood by quipping, “I would love to see Eddie Vedder or Sam Kinison sing lead for Van Halen.
“Unfortunately, this was David Lee Roth,” he explained.
‘THOSE RESPONSES…’
One X user shared the clip and titled it “Wow” to the tune of 2000 likes.
Others rushed to the comments section with an arena’s worth of thoughts about the snafu.
“Sam Kinison?? he almost looks like he could have been in… AC/DC?” one fan replied.
“What makes Jeopardy work is that a good 65% of the time the nerds are dunking on us but like a solid 35% of the time we are dunking on the nerds,” joked another.
A third agreed, “The best jeopardy clips are the ones where the answer is something that cool people would know and the jeopardy nerds flounder.”
A fourth wrote, referring to Ann-Marie, “I love this because it means she’s conflated the two her whole life.”
A fifth wrote, “This has haunted me since I watched it. It’s like their responses are played backwards.”
A sixth said, “I burst out laughing so hard at those responses. The first one had me laughing out loud, but combined with the second I was howling!”
“This is seriously sad,” wrote one more.

Jeopardy! has done away with specialized tournaments like its College Tournaments, Kids Week, and Professor’s Tournament to gear towards a more sports-like model, with Masters being the top of the Jeopardy pyramid.
Other versions of Jeopardy! have fizzled out throughout the years as well, like Sports Jeopardy!.

Earlier this week, Amar also confused two rappers when responding to a clue pertaining to pop culture.
Amar buzzed in to give his answer to a $400 clue in the “Name The Celebrity” category.
“A rapper: Has 2 kids with Rihanna. Actor in Dope and 2018’s Monster,” the clue read.
“Who is Jay Z?” Amar asked with uncertainty.
Ken immediately laughed, adding, “No. Big news for Beyonce if true.”
“This is ASAP Rocky,” he added as Amar grimaced in response to the correct answer.
Fans once again gave their thoughts on the memorable moment, as it implied Jay-Z and Rihanna were an item.
One person wrote on Instagram, “Just throw ’em all together, huh? Ken’s reaction was [bullseye].”
