Super Bowl 2025 Prop Bets: Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift

Super Bowl 2025 Prop Bets: Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift

Even the most minor sports event these days gives gamblers the opportunity to place their bets on a range of outcomes. For the 2025 Super Bowl, companies like FanDuel go all out, offering odds not only on points scored and who might win, but on the most random of prop bets, from “Will There Be a Power Outage on Super Bowl Sunday?” to “Will Kendrick Lamar Wear a Hoodie for First Song?”

We here at Consequence do not have the power to predict the future (yet). However, we can look at the prop bets being offered by FanDuel and offer our thoughts on which feel like good odds.

Note: Novelty style bet availability depends on your location and gaming provider, and all state laws apply. Some bets may not be offered in certain areas, and availability can change at any time. Betting lines may also be updated or become unavailable at any moment. (But somehow all of them are available in Ontario. Hey Drake, ready to put your money where your mouth is?) You can still enjoy learning what FanDuel thinks might happen during Super Bowl LIX, even if you’re not in Canada — do with these odds what you will.

Will Jon Batiste Perform the National Anthem With a Piano?

Says FanDuel: “Settled ‘yes’ if Jon Batiste plays one or more notes on a piano throughout the performance of the Star Spangled Banner US National Anthem. Must be shown on broadcast.”

Odds: Yes: -400 / No: +290

Betting no makes the most sense here. Not just because the odds tilt that way — as talented and hardworking as the ground crew at the Super Bowl might be, pianos are heavy and logistically tough to move off the Superdome’s artificial turf. Jon Batiste plays a variety of instruments: Why not break out the melodica here? — L.S. Miller

Kendrick Lamar’s First Song

Says FanDuel: “Settled on the first song played by Kendrick Lamar according to Setlist.fm. Song played from tape will be excluded. All bets action. Bets after official announcement will be void.”

Odds: The full list of songs is available here.

The oddsmakers think “Humble” is most likely, but at +160, the odds aren’t great for gamblers. A better bet is “squabble up,” the only one of K-Dot’s three no. 1 singles from 2024 that requires no guests and comes with zero Drake baggage. If Lamar wants to take a victory lap for one helluva year, “squabble up” would be the place to start. — Wren Graves

Celebrity Guest to Appear on Stage

Says FanDuel: “Settled on the celebrity physically appearing on stage and singing for at least 10 seconds and listed on Selist.fm. All bets action. Bets after an official announcement will be void.”

Odds: The full list of artists is available here. Note that Drake is listed at +3500, should you want to make the wildest bet of all time.

On GNX, Lamar wrote a whole song about how much he still loves his old TDE comrades. He seems a little closer to Jay Rock (+205) than ScHoolboy Q (+600), but if he’s bringing out one, he’s probably bringing out both. Q at +600 seems like a good price. – W. Graves

Total Number of Songs Performed During the Halftime Show

Says FanDuel: Settled according to the number of songs as recorded by setlist.fm.

Odds: Over 10.5: +100 / Under 10.5: -122

For their respective halftime shows, Usher performed 12 songs, Rihanna 11, and Dre curated 11. The Weeknd’s pandemic performance only had nine, but Shakira and J-Lo combined for 16. The trend is one verse and a chorus, and if I were betting, I would be slamming this over. – W. Graves

Will Travis Kelce Propose to Taylor Swift Post-Super Bowl?

Says FanDuel: “Proposal must be on field after game.”

Odds: Yes: +750 / No: -1500

Even without the specification about where and when the proposal is meant to take place, this wouldn’t be a great bet in terms of the odds — for it feels like “No” is the most likely outcome, if only because it’s strange to imagine a seismic Taylor Swift moment taking place at her boyfriend’s event. Feels like it should be streamed live on Netflix, so that attention can be properly paid. — L.S. Miller
