RYAN Seacrest has endured many live TV blunders throughout in long and prolific broadcasting career.
Spending so much time hosting live television, between American Idol, Live with Kelly and Ryan, and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, accidents are bound to happen.

With Ryan, 48, preparing to add game show host to his already impressive resume, replacing retiring Pat Sajak, 77, as the host of Wheel of Fortune next year, now seems like an apt time to look back on his most embarrassing on-air mistakes.
BULGE BLUNDER
Last year, on what was then called Live with Kelly and Ryan, the TV personality admitted he was forced to change his underwear during the live Season 20 American Idol finale.
Ryan detailed his whole, on-air NSFW wardrobe malfunction as he revealed finale wasn’t just a milestone moment for the contestants and the winner, but also for himself.
He shared that after years in the entertainment business, he had a “television first” of his that Sunday night – changing his underwear mid-show.

After coming off stage at the start of the program, Ryan said he was told by someone in the wardrobe department: “We need to change your underwear.”
Confused about what was happening, he asked the crew member: “What do you mean we need to change my underwear?”

Telling his talk show audience and co-host Kelly Ripa, 53, Ryan continued about his mishap: “Apparently, America voted and decided there was anatomy in the shot.
“And I said, ‘I didn’t bring any extra underwear.’ He says, ‘Don’t worry, I’ve got mine.’”
At this, Kelly just shook her head from side to side and said “no” over and over again.
Ryan told her: “Yes! It was the middle of a live show!”
Getting a bit more specific about his change of attire, he added: “I gotta tell ya, he’s English, so he has shorter, tighter ones.
“So, we go backstage during the commercial, in a little corner, and I’m literally taking off my pants, off my underwear, and putting his on.”
The long-time host said: “Anything for the show! It’s a family show!”
“There was just panic about the underwear, we changed it,” Ryan said. “But that was a television first for yours truly!”
One American Idol viewer caught the moment and tweeted: “I think Ryan forgot his underwear!!! Bwahahahaha”
Another said: “Trying to watch #AmericanIdol and all I can see is a d**k print @RyanSeacrest really??
“All those mirrors and you decided not to look b4 you said, ‘sure, this looks good?’
A third begged: “Get Ryan Seacrest a costume change!”
RUFFLED RYAN
Ryan again suffered a wardrobe blunder during a return to Live with Kelly and Mark as a special guest.
The On Air with Ryan Seacrest host said hello to the audience and gave his former cast and crew hugs.

While embracing Kelly’s new co-host and husband, Mark Consuelos, 52, part of Ryan’s jacket was shown to be ruffled in the back.
When Kelly noticed, she prompted Ryan to fix it but ended up doing it herself.
She quickly got up to pull it down but sat back down when Ryan took his seat.
“Pull it down,” she said.
“She’s already correcting my look,” Ryan exclaimed.
“I know but I know that your mom is gonna text me,” Kelly replied.
CUT THE TAPE
Back in March, while still hosting Live!, the 48-year-old called attention to his blunder on air, leaving guest co-host Ali Wentworth, 58, completely bewildered.
Ryan noticed something strange about his shirt during the show’s trivia segment and instead of letting it go, he turned to Kelly’s fill-in host, Ali, to tell her all about it and get her thoughts.
“By the way, I just want to tell you,” he said. “I just looked down and saw all kinds of things happening here.”
Ryan began fiddling with his button-up and the strange material he found hidden between the gaps.

The former Live host said: “It looks like someone’s concerned my shirt’s gonna pop open during the show, so they put some fool-proof–“
Ali cut him off and joked: “They just duct-taped your whole middle!”
“They just duct-taped me in,” Ryan agreed, before asking: “Is that a bad sign?”
His co-host said no, joking that it was just more so that he’s not able to take his shirt off on the show.
Ryan still took it as a possible personal dig, teasingly telling everyone: “Just tell me I look puffy. I had soy sauce last night!”
The tape on Ryan’s shirt comes after a button popped off his shirt, revealing his bare chest, on the show a couple of months before.
TOTAL WRECK
Around the same time as the tape incident, Ryan crashed into a wall and broke television equipment during an on-camera mishap during American Idol.
Ryan was captured attempting to ride a motorized skateboard at the singing competition tryouts.
An apprehensive, bicycle helmet-clad Ryan rode a contestant’s electric skateboard inside the audition room.
The participant covered her face as the radio host wobbled past crew members and backlit standees of past American Idol winners.

She yelled: “You’re doing great!” to the unsteady Idol host as Ryan jokingly replied: “I probably look fantastic.”
As the TV star neared the confines of the room, the contestant asked: “Do you remember how to dismount?”
Her question was immediately answered as Ryan stumbled off the motorized board and responded: “Yep!” as it crashed into the large sign of singer Adam Lambert.
The damage done, Ryan called back: “Got it! No problem,” before turning back at Adam’s poster and quipping: “Sorry Lambert!”
DEFLATED DESSERT
Earlier this year, Ryan suffered a Valentine’s Day accident as he and Kelly sat on a red lip-shaped sofa and discussed holiday candy.
Kelly looked lovely in a red lacy dress as she sampled some chocolates while Ryan, in a beige two-piece suit, read out the different types of chocolates they were taste-testing.

He then looked up at the show’s announcer Déjà Vu Parker and asked her: “Déjà, do you have a favorite of all of these?”
“I think I like the chocolate and peanut butter too!” she replied, as Kelly instructed him to take a sweet up to Déjà.
As Ryan took off, Kelly shouted: “No, not with your hands!”
Ryan realized what he’d done and hurried back to the sofa and said: “Déjà, I’ll send some up in the break!”
But as he plonked himself back down on the couch, Ryan accidentally sat on a box of chocolates as the live studio audience gasped.
“Déjà, don’t eat any of those!” Kelly remarked as she laughed and replied: “I don’t know if it’s safe anymore!”
Someone off-camera was heard confirming that there was a fresh box of candy as Ryan wiped his trousers.
“That’s gonna look like a situation but it’s clearly a Reese’s,” he joked, before adding: “I’ll be explaining that later!
“I sat on a heart! It was chocolate and peanut butter! Everybody loves chocolate and peanut butter!” Ryan said.
DOG-GONE IT!
Last year, Ryan panicked during a live broadcast of Live! as he and Kelly attempted to have some fun with puppies on the studio set.
The pair were joined by training expert Andrea Arden, who was teaching them some dog tricks.
Unfortunately, Ryan wasn’t able to learn the lessons quickly enough, as he had trouble controlling the pups.
At one point, he found himself on the ground, trying to get a dog to come back to him.
The expert had to come in and trade dogs with him to help out.
That didn’t work for long, though, as this next pup soon ran away from Ryan, as well.
This time, he had to run off-set and behind the stage to chase after the animal, before carrying the dog back to front and center a short while later.
Meanwhile, Kelly and Andrea worked to keep the rest of the segment going and on topic.
“I’m trying to stay focused,” the latter said, as she briefly turned her head to watch Ryan running all over the set.
Kelly decided: “This dog is afraid of Ryan!”
She then jokingly asked him: “Ryan, what cologne did you wear today?”
