Sum 41 Celebrate First US Radio No.1 In Over 20 Years

Sum 41 have reached No.1 at US radio with ‘Landmines’, more than 20 years since they last hit the top spot.

The single, taken from their upcoming final, double album ‘Heaven :x: Hell’, is at No.1 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay Chart. They last held the position with ‘Fat Lip’ back in 2001 and the 22 year gap between No.1s is the longest ever in the chart’s history.

Celebrating the news on the band’s Instagram, frontman Deryck Whibley wrote “I’m honestly shocked, stoked and so unbelievably grateful right now. This little song that I wrote quickly, early in the pandemic has now reached #1 in America on alternative radio, as well as #1 across four different radio formats in our beloved home country of Canada! That’s five number 1s for “Landmines!”

He continued “I really want to thank everyone at radio who took a chance on playing this song and to the public for making your voices heard to get this song to the top!

“On a side note, as a punk music fan, I’m just beyond excited to see Sum 41, Blink-182 and Green Day at the top of the charts together again!”

‘Heaven :x: Hell’ is out on March 29 and you can get your copy on exclusive tri-stripe vinyl right here or by clicking the link below:

Sum 41 will return to the UK this June when they perform at Download Festival alongside the likes of Fall Out Boy, Avenged Sevenfold, Queens Of The Stone Age and many more.
