YOUTUBER Billy LeBlanc’s girlfriend died at the age of 41 after contracting a virus from eating raw oysters.
LeBlanc and his girlfriend Natalie Clark both contracted a virus called Vibrio Vulnificus after enjoying a seafood dinner.
LeBlanc himself was close to death as he and his girlfriend spent several days in the Intensive Care Unit.
The pair spent twelve days in the hospital, with eight of those days being in ICU fighting for their lives, until one day LeBlanc woke up and his girlfriend had died, The Daily Mail reported.
“We ate oysters and we both felt sick for a couple days and then I woke up and she was gone,” LeBlanc said in a post.
In a separate post of the two traveling together, the content creator reminisced on the happy memories the couple shared.
“I will always remember how we got lost everywhere together. I will always love her and miss her.
“Be safe and hold your loved ones tight, you never know when it’ll be the last time you see them.”
LeBlanc’s mother honored her son’s late girlfriend with a heartfelt post on Facebook.
“Natalie lost her life and Billy was very close to death in the ICU for 8 days. Please continue to pray for Natalie’s son Julian for her family and for Billy, both for his health and his heart,” she wrote.
The CDC reported around 80,000 cases of Vibrio Vulnificus are contracted per year from eating raw seafood.
Those who contract the virus can die within one to two days of becoming sick.
Clark leaves behind her 17-year-old son, Julian.
In early May, she posted a photo of her and her son on Mother’s Day with the caption, “Thank you, son, for the best date ever! You are the best thing that ever happened to me.”
The tragic passing of LeBlanc’s girlfriend comes nine years after the star lost his 13-year-old son, Caleb.
Caleb was one of three children Leblanc shared with his ex-wife, Katie LeBlanc.
The influencer’s son suddenly dropped dead of cardiac arrest in 2015.
Despite Caleb having regular health screenings due to Katie’s family history of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, the teenager was unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
