Why Travis Kelce Changed Residence After Taylor Swift Romance Began

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was forced to change his residence after the start of his whirlwind romance with popstar Taylor Swift.

News of the duo dating made them the subject of attention in the media for many months, leading to Travis often being stalked by curious Swifties.

The footballer then opted to move for “safety reasons” to a $6 million mansion in a gated community.

Travis and Swift’s relationship has been going strong for months, yet it hasn’t been without its unique challenges, particularly for the star athlete.

The attention the two have received since they began their whirlwind romance has been overwhelming, prompting Travis,  who is comparatively less popular than Swift, to drastically change his accommodations.

Before entering a relationship with Swift, Travis resided in a modest home in Kansas City. However, facing the challenge of unsolicited visitors waiting on his premises and concerns about accessibility to the public, he opted to move for “safety reasons” after beginning his romance with the pop star.

“I mean, he [Travis] had to move completely out of his house,” Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, revealed during an appearance on Shaquille O’Neal’s “The Big Podcast.” “People were just standing by his house.”

He added, “Yeah [he had to move out] for safety reasons.”

A Fan Stalked Travis Kelce To His New Home

Travis’ new home is a $6 million sprawling mansion that boasts six bedrooms and baths and covers 17,000 sq ft of prime property. It also comes with the added advantage of being located in a gated community, a top priority for Travis.

However, despite moving to a more secure place, Travis still found himself stalked to his home by a crazed member of the public.

“The first day he moved into his new house, a gated community, somebody knocks on the back window of the house,” Jason said about the frightening encounter.

For the Philadelphia Eagles veteran, he and his brother have barely had a break from the media attention since being thrown into the world of Swift and are still adjusting to it all.

“We’re still learning….We’ve always been big in the football world, Travis especially [but] Taylor World and the pop culture world, that’s a whole different level,” he said. “You’re in a different, it’s just an added level of, it’s a new demographic that wasn’t there before.”

While Travis wants his home to be private, he doesn’t mind being at the center of PDA moments with Swift. The duo have been seen on a number of occasions exchanging kisses and warm hugs, with the latest coming after the footballer’s Super Bowl win.

They have continued to garner headlines ever since they began their relationship, and Swift started showing up at Kelce’s matches. Recently, he was seen addressing why the world is “fascinated” with them after a reporter popped the question during an interview.

He said that “the values that we stand for and who we are as people” were the reason behind all the attention.

Travis added, “We love to shine light on others and shine light around the people that help and support us. I feel like we both have just a love for life.”

Travis Kelce Is ‘Ready’ To ‘Show Up’ For Taylor Swift

Kelce is expected to spend time in the NFL offseason supporting Swift just like she did at 13 games over his season.

“Football is everything to him. He lives and breathes it. But he’s ready for some downtime now and to show up for Taylor the way she has for him,” an insider told People magazine. “The attention on them is definitely a lot, but Travis has done a great job deflecting and focusing on what’s important.”

Swift is currently in Melbourne, Australia, for her Eras Tour, her first stop on the road since she resumed the tour.

Although Travis is yet to join her, he made sure her arrival in the country was memorable. He ordered 250-eternity roses for Valentine’s Day to her hotel room and other floral delights that came later on, which reportedly cost around $14,000.

A source close to the couple told The Sun the reason why Travis went all out with the surprise.

“He wanted to show her how much he cares about her and the upcoming months to come as they will travel together all over the world,” the source said.
