Whitney Port is opening up about her infertility struggles. In her latest post, The Hills star lounges in her swimsuit and delves into the emotional “rollercoaster” of trying to conceive her second child. “Pre-bloat…Two days post egg retrieval, and I feel like I swallowed Sonny, and he’s dully kicking at my ovaries. Watching my carb and liquid intake. Sunday, I felt relief, yesterday I felt calm, and today I feel unsettled,” she wrote. “This whole IVF thing is so crazy! It’s a legit science experiment that you do a lot ON YOURSELF, sometimes with a partner, both with little education and LOTS OF EMOTIONS. It is an inevitable colossal rollercoaster. One that you wish sometimes would abruptly end, and then at others, you feel on top of the world and more vital than anyone. It’s just so crazy.” How does the mother-of-one keep prioritize self care? Port has a few go-to workouts, which she generally does in the morning: Sweat Yoga, Soul Cycle, or a pilates Reformer class, she told Self. Over the pandemic, she started doing more virtual workouts. “I have been doing a lot of Sculpt, Cardio Boxing and Yoga Classes on the obé Fitness App and virtual classes with Pilates By Amanda. If I don’t have a lot of time, I will do Lauren Gores’ express workouts on her Instagram. Next week, I am starting Megan Roup’s The Sculpt Society which I am really excited about. AND I am dying to try The Class by Taryn Toomey,” she added to E! Online.

“Every morning is different,” Port said when asked about her favorite morning meal. “[One day] it’s cereal, another is banana and bread with melted cheese on it. Sometimes I’ll have yogurt with granola and fresh fruit, so it really varies.”

Whitney told StyleCaster that she prefers a light lunch. “If I eat something super heavy, I just get really tired and feel like I need a nap after,” she said. “Usually, I’ll have just a salad, and it varies with different proteins. My favorite kind is just mixed greens with grilled chicken and some beets and goat cheese with a vinaigrette. My favorite thing to eat is anything Mediterranean, like a Greek salad with grilled chicken and rice. That’s an ideal lunch for me.”

Port keeps healthy snacks on hand. “I think finding healthy snacks is a really hard thing to do when you’re traveling. Just try to be prepared and pack your own,” she suggested to StyleCaster. A few of her favorites include sourdough toast with peanut butter. “Or I have those Perfect peanut butter bars that are really good for on the go… they’re really delicious.”.

Whitney avoids taking an all or nothing approach to health. “I try to work out three times a week and eat mostly lean proteins, veggies, and fruits but, I also allow myself to enjoy myself when I feel like it!” she told Hollywood Life. “I don’t believe in strict diets or limitations. It’s all about a healthy balance.”

Port believes that as a parent, kids “deserve us at our best and we can’t be our best unless we nourish ourselves,” she wrote in a recent Instagram post about the importance of self-care. “I’m focusing on quality over quantity- not running around doing a million things, but being thoughtful about the few things that are working AND that I find equally inspired by. Taking this approach has allowed me to be so much more present on the weekends.”

Port starts her day with a cup of hot water with lemon. She also loves smoothies. “Mine usually have whole milk Greek yogurt, ice, a handful of spinach, some pineapple, whatever milk I have [right now, it is Forager Coconut Cashew Oat], a banana, half an avocado, two dates, a dash of cinnamon and sometimes a scoop of nut butter,” she told E!
