Luke Combs’ interpretation of Tracy Chapman’s timeless classic ‘Fast Car’ was one of the biggest hits of 2023. No matter where you looked or were listening to music, there it was.

On Sunday night at the Grammy Awards, the two teamed up for an unbelievable performance of the song that was met with universal acclaim on social media.

Take a look at some of the performance.

Watching this live, it was pretty clear that this was going to be an iconic Grammy’s performance. The dichotomy between Chapman, born and raised in Cleveland, and Combs, born and raised in the Appalachian’s in North Carolina, is pretty stark.

But, the fact that both of them produced absolute smash hits singing the same song proves just how much this song resonates with every kind of person who would listen to it.

Fast Car, released in 1988, was nominated for three Grammy’s, winning one, and charted inside the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100.

Luke Combs has also been nominated for the song, as he’s up for Best Country Solo Performance.
