Tia Carrere in Wetsuit Paddleboards Saying "Happy Aloha Friday"

Tia Carrere is heating up the British Virgin Islands – in her wetsuit. In a new social media post the Wayne’s World star shows off her gorgeous body in a wetsuit-style bathing suit while stand up paddle boarding in paradise. “Happy Aloha Friday from another set of islands #britishvirginislands 🤙🏾” she captained the post. How does the star, now 57, stay in such great shape? Celebwell has the details on her go-to lifestyle habits.

Tia’s approach to diet and fitness has evolved over the years. “Being 23 and doing Wayne’s World in those short tight dresses and bikinis, I had to pay more attention to food and exercise. I was never unhealthy about it or obsessed, but just aware of what I wanted to look like on film. A 23-year-old metabolism certainly helped though!” she confessed to InBetween. When her role as Lady Danger in AJ and the Queen came along, she “was over the moon” that she “could be who I am right now at this time in my life,” she added. “I’m more voluptuous in my look and the way I express myself. It was liberating being fully myself without feeling self-conscious at all. Meanwhile, my male co-star was on a strict diet and exercise plan for those abs he was showing all the time! Hilarious!”

One of Tia’s go-to forms of fitness? Cycling. “Either the kitchen or the bike? I choose bike. 😉 #actress #fitness #goals,” she captioned an Instagram post

Tia relies on food delivery services, like NutriFit, when she needs to get in shape, explaining that it “makes it a lot easier” for her to stay on track. “It’s three meals a day and three snacks. I was like, ‘Really, all this food and I’m still going to lose weight?’ And I have been. I learned something valuable [during this process]  starving yourself all day is not going to help,” she told TV Guide.

While on NutriFit, Tia consumed 1,700 calories per day. For breakfast she would have “two or three little whole-wheat pancakes with syrup and some fruit,” followed by a smoothie for a morning snack. “Then for lunch, it will be, like, a turkey chili, green beans and a green salad. And then, I don’t know, Mediterranean tapas on little crackers or vegetables for a snack. For dinner, it will be, like, honey-Dijon chicken with a vegetable medley and a salad, and then I can even have a slice of angel food cake or a fudge brownie for dessert. I mean, it’s a lot of food,” she said.

Tia told Yahoo that she is “comfortable” in her skin. “I’ve done incredibly well with maintaining a balanced mind, body and spirit for having been in this business for almost 40 years now. And unfortunately, we’ve all seen the carnage along the way. It’s very, very difficult when you’re the product not to take it personally when your stock goes up or down, when people take nasty potshots at you, as they can with easy access now with social media. You really, really have to work on your internal core strength so that the marketplace doesn’t dictate whether you’re happy with yourself,” she said.

In her latest post, Tia gets her sweat on paddleboarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and also a great form of cardio. The water sport can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140 pound male and 436 for a female the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.
