TBS cancels fan-favorite comedy series starring Daniel Radcliffe after four seasons despite plans to move show ahead

TBS executives have gotten rid of the last live-action comedy series on the network.

Miracle Workers won’t be renewed for another season, though it had the potential to be.

Following the hilarious anthology’s fourth season finale, which aired in August, Deadline reported on Tuesday that the program was over for good.

Miracle Workers being cut from TBS’ show line-up wasn’t surprising, especially since it was reported earlier this year that the fourth season might be the final one.

If last season’s ratings were exceptional, then there was a possibility that Miracle Workers, which starred Harry Potter alum Daniel Radcliffe, 34, would have a fifth season.

Daniel was excited about the idea the show’s creative team had come up with for the fifth season, Deadline revealed.

Simon Rich created Miracle Workers, and Lorne Michaels produced it.

Dan Mirk and Robert Padnick were the showrunners and served as executive producers alongside Andrew Singer and Katy Jenson.

So far, the beloved cartoon American Dad is the last scripted original show on TBS.

American Dad is in Season 18, and has been renewed for a 19th season.

GETTING THE BOOT

Shortly after Warner Brothers and Discovery merged, the media company axed several shows.

Among the cancellations was Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, which they dropped in 2022.

“As we continue to shape our new programming strategy, we’ve made some difficult, business-based decisions,” a TBS spokeswoman told Deadline.

“Full Frontal With Samantha Bee will not return to TBS. We are proud to have been the home to Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and thank Sam, and the rest of the Emmy-nominated team for their groundbreaking work.

“We celebrate this extraordinarily talented cast and crew and look forward to exploring new opportunities to work with them in the future.”

Chad, The Last O.G., and The Big D were also canceled by the network.

Shortly after the cancellation was announced, Samantha’s reps released a statement.

SAMANTHA SPOKE OUT

“Samantha Bee is honored to have hosted the Emmy Award-winning series Full Frontal with Samantha Bee on TBS for seven seasons, but the show will not return to the network this fall,” the statement read, via The Hollywood Reporter.

“Bee made television history in the late night space, paving the way for female voices in what has traditionally been, and continues to be a male dominated landscape.

“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee consistently broke barriers with Sam and her team boldly using political satire to entertain, inform and empower viewers, while embracing critically underrepresented stories, particularly about women.”

The late-night show also posted a statement on its official X, fka Twitter, page saying: “After 7 seasons, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee will not be returning to TBS this fall.

“We’re so thankful for our loyal audience, our amazing team, and that we got to annoy the right people every week—that there wasn’t wrestling or baseball or a very special episode of Big Bang.”

In a separate tweet, they continued: “To our loyal fans – we love you, you’re very special. Go home, and go home in peace.”

Samantha is a comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actress, and television host who was born on October 25, 1969, in TorontoCanada.

She got her big break after landing a spot on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where she became the longest-serving regular correspondent.
