Slow Joy Announces New EP ‘Mi Amigo Slow Joy’

Dallas-based Slow Joy has shared details of a brand-new EP, ‘Mi Amigo Slow Joy’.

The solo project of Esteban Flores, Slow Joy recently released his single ‘Pulling Teeth’, which marked his first new music of 2024.

And now the artist will have a whole load of new tunes when his new EP ‘Mi Amigo Slow Joy’ arrives June 07 via Mick Music.

Describing his latest track, Flores has explained:

“[It’s] basically an apology to my wife for me not being the easiest person to deal with all the time” along with being an expression of gratitude for her patience and support.

“It’s one of those songs where it’s like, ‘Please don’t give up on me; I know I’m taking a little bit.’”

Have a listen to the track via its lyric video below.

The EP was produced by Mike Sapone at New Jersey’s Barbershop Studios and marks the follow-up to 2023’s ‘Wildflower’ EP.

Flores credits Sapone for helping create a bigger, more emotive sound and speaking further about the creation of the project has shared:

“I’m such a creature of habit when it comes to creative things, that I’ll just keep reproducing the same thing in the same room. It was good to be in a different spot entirely.

“I had never gotten to a place where I had the time to experiment – or felt safe to experiment – in a nice studio. This time, it felt really open.”

Slow Joy recently announced some North American dates, in addition to their support of beloved emo band Free Throw.
