Sister Wives threatened with rival show about ‘Mormon wives’ on Hulu after fans slam long-running TLC series as ‘boring’

Kody Brown's show Sister Wives has a new rival show

SISTER Wives has been put to the test against a television show about ‘Mormon wives.’

Hulu has been collecting a ton of reality shows, and one of their newest productions is a docuseries called The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

The show is about a group of Mormon women who are also swingers, according to Deadline.

The EVP of Unscripted & Alternative Entertainment at Walt Disney Television, Rob Mills, made a statement about the show

He said: “We have a show that we’re working on now that we’re excited about, which is about a group of Mormon wives who are also swingers.”

He also made a joke stating that the show is a good example of the difference between a Hulu and an ABC show.

Jeff Jenkins Productions, who created the Netflix show Bling Empire, will be producing the docuseries.

END OF AN ERA

Fans aren’t sure if the show Sister Wives will last another season.

Fans theorized Kody Brown‘s divorces from his ex-wives might hurt the show unless the family got “back on track.”

In a Reddit thread, viewers debated the future of the TLC show.

One fan speculated: “The Brown family has fallen apart before our eyes.

“I think they are only doing the show for the money.”

Another fan agreed: “I honestly think they all just liked the money too much to give up the show.”

“Maybe. They are aware the show will not last forever, and I can understand the allure of wanting to ride the wave to its natural conclusion,” argued another fan.

A fourth person added: “Doubt Kody and his exes will ever tell TLC they are done.

“TLC wants more drama. TLC won’t do anything until the show gets boring. TLC will have to pull the plug and tell them no negotiation.”

A fan chimed in: “America loves to watch train wrecks. After the wreckage gets cleaned up, that is when the ratings will drop, and no one will start to care about Sister Wives.

“That’s when TLC will get involved.”

HAVING A HARD TIME

Kody has been dealing with a lot of changes since three of his four lives left him.

When Christine, 51, Meri, 53, and Janelle Brown, 54, left Kody starting in November 2021, his life turned upside down.

Now, more than two years later, the 55-year-old has decided to start healing his wounds, according to People.

Although the past few years have been “sad and challenging,” the TLC star has been processing his new life.

He said, “It’s been a process. Really I just look forward to a future of a lot of forgiving and a lot of more understanding.”

The patriarch has also had to work on his self-esteem stating divorce “destroys your confidence.”

Still, he feels like his “confidence is coming back.”

His relationship with Christine was the first to end in November 2021 after she divorced him.

A little over a year later in December 2022, Janelle decided it was her time to separate from Kody.

Finally in January 2023, Meri – his first wife – officially left Kody after being distant from him for several years- she now has a new boyfriend.

Kody was left with his last wife Robyn Brown, 45, who had already been through a divorce of her own and was desperate to be in a plural marriage.
