Selena Gomez Stuns in Swimsuit Showing "Moments in Time"

Selena Gomez is heating up social media with a brand new swimsuit snap. In a recent social media post the singer and actress shows off her amazing body in a bathing suit while posing with pal and fellow actress-slash-singer Sofia Carson. “Moments in time,” she captioned the series of Instagram photos. How does the star approach health and wellness? Celebwell rounded up her top lifestyle habits.

Selena has been vocal about her mental health struggles, disussing her bipolar dissorder diagnosis in 2020 in a one-on-one conversation with Miley Cyrus on Instagram Live. “I went through a really hard season. It was my highs and my lows, and I didn’t know what to do, so I couldn’t control it. I would want to cancel things. It was just a tormented feeling. That’s why, when I found out my diagnosis, it was just, ‘Oh, okay, I feel a bit relieved, I understand a bit more.’ I got second opinions. I went to doctors. I’m fortunate enough to be able to have people who can help me survive every day.”

During her final breakup with on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber, Selena decided to take a break from social media because it became too toxic. She handed over her password to her assistant and stayed off. “I had just gotten my heart broken. I didn’t need to see what everyone was doing,” she told Fast Company. “Then there were those moments of not feeling positive about how I looked because of what I’d see on Instagram. Wow, I wish my body looked like that.”

In 2018 paparazzi surfaced of Gomez in a bikini while boating in Australia, and trolls came out to get her. Before, she’d “had a teenager’s body,” she told Fast Company. But, now “none of the sample sizes were fitting, and that would make me feel embarrassed. Although how unrealistic is it to expect a normal woman’s body not to change?” She took steady aim at “the beauty myth—an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self-consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty.”

“Last year on Selena’s revival tour, I made sure the dressing room always had veggies and protein and brown rice or whole grains,” her trainer and wellness expert Amy Rosoff Davis, told Byrdie. “I made a lot of rice bowls with veggies, protein, and avocado for Selena. It helped give her energy and stamina, which she needed to get through her shows. I also made healthy chicken salad with grapes and celery—it quenched her thirst and the protein filled her up.”

Selena prioritizes hydration. “We always drank lots of water and had green tea when we needed a pick me up—it sure was exhausting at times,” Davis dished about Selena’s hydration approach while on tour. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.

Selena and Davis focus on “interval and circuit training—and building a strong core,” the trainer told Byrdie. “My whole thing is toning mixed with cardio and stretching,” she added. In a recent TikTok Gomez gives fans a glimpse of her grueling workout, doing moves like overhead arm raises, weighted squats, weighted leg lifts, donkey kicks, stretches, and crunches with a medicine ball.

Aside from hitting the gym,Selena sweats up a storm via different workouts. “[Selena and I] do everything from Pilates to hiking to dance cardio to circuit training to yoga and Spinning—the list goes on,” Davis told Byrdie. Why is pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, as it “strengthens the body’s inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health. It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.
