Joe and Beth were unable to solve the puzzle as 'That's My Point'

PAT Sajak has turned heads with a sarcastic comment aimed at a married couple who fell short in the bonus round.

His ruthless remark came at the tail end of Tuesday, February 20’s episode of the iconic game show.

The continuation of Sweethearts Week saw more married couples compete in teams.

Beth and Jon, who have been married for 25 years and “met on Halloween,” stole the show.

After an enthusiastic game all around, they headed to the bonus round with $24,950 in good spirits.

They opted for the “Phrase” category and chose “HDMA” as their additional letters.

The puzzle on the board seemed manageable: “THAT’S’ ‘M_’ ‘_ _ _ T’”.

However, their guess of “That’s my Vent?” missed the mark, and the correct answer, “That’s My Point,” eluded them.

After the puzzle was revealed and the timer ran out, Pat, 77, cheekily commented, “You were getting up to the P there.”

Then, delivering the zinger, he turned to them and quipped, “Well, you missed the point there, as it turned out.”

Beth brushed off the comment with a nonchalant “Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.”

Pat revealed they had missed out on a new VW car, but he softened the blow with, “I’m sorry, but you were a great couple!”

‘YELLING AT MY TV’

Fans had mixed reactions on social media as one X user wrote: “I’m literally yelling at my TV about this bonus puzzle on Wheel of Fortune that these two contestants failed to solve.

“I knew the answer within seconds as they were selecting their guess letters. Like omg.”

However, others enjoyed the lighthearted energy as all three couples were supportive throughout: “Literally had so much fun watching Wheel of Fortune tonight, and I mean it.”

SASSY SENDOFF SEASON

Pat Sajak has spun out plenty of harsh comments during his last season as host.

Last month, Pat mocked a contestant who struggled with a puzzle, comparing it to “pulling teeth.”

He told another contestant who missed their bonus puzzle: “You were so not close.”

And recently, fans were stunned when Pat “disrespectfully” screamed “shut up” at a contestant.

In the fall, the host gave it to the contestants after each made an incorrect guess on a puzzle.

He snarked to the player who solved it: “You were bound to get there eventually.

There are only so many words in the English language.”

“Aw!” another contestant could be heard yelling off-screen as the audience nervously laughed.

A winner from earlier this season exclusively told The U.S. Sun that he was outshining Pat with his charisma, causing the host to warn at a commercial break: “This is my show.”

Pat is retiring at the end of the now-airing season in June 2024 to make way for Ryan Seacrest, who will begin hosting late this summer.
