MrBeast ‘cooks’ Elon Musk as YouTuber says ‘not even a billion views’ would be worth uploading his videos to X

Fans of MrBeast were shocked when the YouTuber shut down Elon Musk's request

FANS of MrBeast say he “cooked” Elon Musk when the CEO of X requested the creator post more videos to the platform.

MrBeast – real name Jimmy Donaldson – is the world’s most popular YouTuber with more than 225 million subscribers and 40 billion views.

His most recent video, I Spent 7 Days In Solitary Confinement, raked in 60 million views in just 48 hours.

He told his 25.1 million followers on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he uploaded the video and urged them all to watch.

“I uploaded, go watch or I’ll drop kick you,” MrBeast tweeted on Saturday.

Another user responded to the tweet, asking him to upload on X as well.

“Upload on this platform too,” they wrote.

Elon Musk replied underneath, writing: “Yeah.”

However, MrBeast said that uploading his videos on X wouldn’t be beneficial.

“My videos cost millions to make and even if they got a billion views on X, it wouldn’t fund a fraction of it :/” MrBeast said in response.

“I’m down though to test stuff once monetization is really cranking!”

The tweet had more than 1,200 responses, mostly from people reacting to MrBeast’s “roast” of the CEO.

“MrBeast just cooked Elon lmfao,” wrote one person.

“He told Elon ‘You can’t afford me lil bro,'” another said.

“A view on YouTube is disproportionally more valuable than a view on any other platform,” wrote a third person.

“You tell him, Jimmy!”

X began an ads revenue-sharing program last year with Musk saying that the first set of payments to creators totaled to $5 million.

However, KSI, a YouTuber with 24 million subscribers, said on Logan Paul‘s podcast, IMPAULSIVE, that he only made $1,590 in a month on X despite having more than 8.9 million followers.

KSI and Paul said that it’s nice to make any money off the platform but, when compared to other online platforms that pay creators, X is incredibly low.

“Comparatively…to other platforms, for hundreds of millions on YouTube, that’s hundreds of thousands of dollars,” said Paul.

In a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, MrBeast spoke about the massive budget it takes to produce his videos.

“I could be doing cheaper videos,” he told the outlet.

“But I just don’t want to. I want to push the boundaries to go bigger, bigger.”

The U.S. Sun contacted MrBeast and X for comment.
