He continued, “Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success.” The “When A Man Loves A Woman” singer assured fans that he is in good spirits and currently recuperating at home, “surrounded by tremendous love.”

The two-time Grammy Award winner informed fans that his health has mandated him to pause touring. “For the next couple of months, I will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery which means I’ll have to take a temporary break from touring, he wrote. “It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show.”

Nevertheless, the 70-year-old singer promised that he is working hard to “accelerate” his progress and would be back to performing in no time. Bolton concluded his post by appreciating his fans for their loyalty, writing:

“I am beyond grateful for all the love and support you have so generously shown me through the years. Know that I’m keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I’ll give you more updates as soon as I can. Much love always, MB.”

The post was immediately bombarded with encouraging remarks and get-well-soon messages. One fan wrote, “So sorry for what you are going through, I hope you have a fast recovery. You were so cool to me back in 1980 when I took singing lessons from you on Chapel St. You have a huge impact on me and I appreciate all you did for me. Thank you, MB.”

A loyal listener who had been in a similar situation penned, “Wishing you a speedy recovery! I had a brain tumor removed 12 years ago.”
A similar message read, “Praying for a speedy recovery! Take care of yourself. You and your family are all that matters. You have given so much of yourself to others through your music. We are all very grateful. Now you MUST take care of yourself.”
