In the post she dropped on Instagram for her 2.5 million followers, fans saw two black-and-white photos. Hargitay and Hermann are all smiles in the first photo as the “Duane Incarnate” actor embraced his bride at their 2004 wedding reception.

The second slide was a more recent image of the couple cuddling up together while enjoying a boat ride on what seemed like a sunny day. While the colors of their clothes are hard to discern, the pair both rocked sunglasses, with Hermann adding a baseball cap. Hargitay’s caption for the post was both simple and to the point: “Eighteen years. Grateful. In love. Together.”

The update garnered hundreds of thousands of likes and an influx of comments from excited fans. One person wrote, “I’m so glad you found each other,” and another added, “Happy anniversary! Wishing you both many many many more years of love happiness, and adventure [four red heart emojis].”

A third fan said, “If there is such thing as love you both are the proof. Congratulations. And much laughter and joy. For ever.” Another declared their gladness that the pair found each other.

As earlier mentioned, Hargitay and Hermann first met on the set of “Law & Order: SVU” in 2001. What you may not know is that the actor asked the actress out on a church date after they had a conversation about religion. According to PopSugar, the pair’s relationship quickly blossomed, and after three years of dating, the “Younger” actor and Hargitay made things official at a Santa Barbara chapel. Recounting the event, the 55-year-old said:

“I recited my vows so loudly, you could have heard them in Oregon, but Mariska’s were quiet and small.”

Hermann claimed during a 2019 interview that he knew he wanted to spend forever with Hargitay while at her 40th birthday bash in January 2004. He reclaimed how seeing the people the actress loved around her felt like “seeing this person who was now in the soil, that she was just dying to be planted in it.”

He realized there and then that he wanted to be “part of that soil.” Well, Hermann has gotten his wish as he and Hargitay have remained strong alongside their three children — August, Amaya, and Andrew. The “Trouble with the Curve” actor has disclosed the secret behind their long-lasting union: kindness, listening well, and fighting fair.

Hargitay Got An MRI That Revealed Some Broken Bones

Although it might not look like it, Hargitay’s life has had some rough spots. In May 2021, the Primetime Emmy Award winner updated her fans on a health issue that she faced. The Blast noted that the actress posted a picture of herself outside the Hospital For Special Surgery, wearing a black blouse and cream-colored shorts.

However, what caught fans’ attention was the braces attached to her left ankle and her right knee. Luckily, fans did not need to ask too many questions as the “Prince Street” actress revealed that an MRI had exposed the injuries on her legs. And as it turned out, she did not need surgery to correct the problem.

Unfortunately, distraught fans quickly assumed she had gotten the injuries on set, prompting the actress to provide another update. After pointing out that the stories around her injuries were “alarming,” Hargitay clarified that she had no idea about the damage until the MRI.

She had only done the scan after she broke her knee during a shooting scene on set two weeks prior. In yet another statement, the mother-of-three divulged that she had gotten no hospital time for the injuries. Hargitay also assured her fans that they did not need to worry about her because she was “doing fine.” The “Ellen” actress thanked everybody for looking out for and sending love her way.
