KATHIE LEE GIFFORD has been in tears after admitting kindness used to be something people expected in a cryptic social media post.

Kathie Lee spent some time on X, formerly known as Twitter, and had been seen interacting with a user who had shared an inspirational story.

The former host read a story from a user who recounted someone’s touching experience at Walmart.

It involved a gentleman who took his items to the checkout and ended up paying for his purchase with change.

The cashier helped the man sort through his money and get organized so he could pay.

The person telling the story thanked the cashier for being so patient with the man.

Her kind words resonated with the person who saw it all happen.

“You shouldn’t have to thank me, baby. What’s wrong with our world is we’ve forgotten how to love one another,” she reportedly said.

“I am in tears reading this,” Kathie Lee, 70, wrote in a response to the post.

“Kindness used to be something we expected…now it takes us by surprise and our spirits soar.”

She didn’t expand on her thoughts on the matter after leaving the single comment on the story.

It seemed she had been emotionally stricken by the post she had read on the social media network.

LEFT OUT

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, it seemed Kathie had snubbed her boyfriend in a new family photo.

The former host shared a photo of her son Cody, 33, his wife, Erika, and their two young children.

Kathie Lee’s grandson, Frank Michael Gifford, 1, was seen sucking his thumb next to Cody, while Erika held onto their newborn son in her arms.

Just last month, Erika gave birth to their second child, Ford Matthew Gifford, making Kathie Lee a grandma of three.

Kathie Lee’s daughter, Cassidy, also welcomed her son, Finn Thomas Wierda, in June of this year.

The new photo showed Cody and his family smiling for the selfie shot as they stood in front of their Christmas tree dressed in holiday attire.

Kathie Lee, 70, added in the caption: “So blessed to spend this very special week with my growing family. God is so good and I am so grateful. Praying His blessings on all of you today and into the next year.”

Kathie Lee’s boyfriend, Richard Spitz, 62, was nowhere to be seen in the family shot.

TOXIC RELATIONSHIP?

The potential snub comes shortly after a reliable source exclusively revealed to The U.S. Sun that Kathie Lee’s children believe her relationship with Richard is “one-sided.”

“They have a routine – she buys and delivers to him, lunch and dinner, they go to their favorite gym which she pays for, and he will visit at night but will never stay over,” the insider claimed.

“Her children and close friends and family are heartbroken that she continues this toxic relationship with this man who they say treats her horribly.”

“Cassidy and Cody do not approve of the relationship and want her to move on with her life so she can meet someone who will love and cherish her,” the insider added.

Despite being together for two years, Kathie Lee and Richard have never stepped out publicly.

One insider previously revealed that Kathie and Richard had an argument earlier this year about his desire to keep their romance under wraps.

One source close to the star said that Kathie Lee’s friends are also not fans of Richard.

“The issue they have with Richard is that he seems disinterested in the relationship.

“Kathie Lee seems to give it her all, while he appears to give little to no effort,” they said.

Kathie Lee was married to NFL star, Frank Gifford, from 1986 until his death in 2015.

Before Frank, Kathie Lee was married to Christian composer Paul Johnson, whom she divorced in 1983.

Kathie Lee is best known for co-hosting ABC’s Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee from 1985 to 2000, alongside the late Regis Philbin.

She later moved to NBC’s Today in 2008 to host alongside Hoda Kotb for the fourth-hour segment of the popular morning show.

BOYFRIEND REVEAL

Back in August Kathie Lee revealed to People: “I have someone very special in my life. I’ve discovered that by not talking about it, it stays special.”

In April of 2021, she opened up about a mystery man on Today, saying: “It’s just happy, and I don’t want to mess it up, and I probably already have by just even mentioning it.”

While Kathie Lee was “relieved” news of her new relationship was finally out in the open, her businessman other half disagreed, a source close to the host said.

“Kathie Lee is secretly thrilled to finally have this relationship out in the open.

“Richard, on the other hand, is not happy at all,” the source told The U.S. Sun.

“He has never allowed his picture to be taken, and is furious that his relationship with Kathie Lee is ‘out there’ now.”
