In January 2023, Jeremy Renner was admitted to the hospital and was kept in the ICU observation after a snowplot accident. The Avengers actor was severely injured, and many were worried about his health. It took weeks for Renner to recover, and he received immense love from his friends, colleagues, and fans. Robert Downey Jr was one such person who made sure to check up on him often.

In Marvel movies, Jeremy Renner and Robert Downey Jr might not share screenspace together anymore, but their bond is beyond their work. In an interview, Jeremy revealed that he and Downey would have lots of chats while he was recovering last year.

Jeremy Renner told People, “We ended up having really great chats on FaceTime like we were dating or something. He’s like, ‘Dude, the most important thing is you look good. I don’t care how you feel; as long as you look good, that’s all that matters.”
