Jeopardy! drops major hint about Emma Stone’s future on show after actress reveals she’s desperate to compete

Emma Stone shocked fans by revealing in a new interview that she really wants to be on Jeopardy!

JEOPARDY! has responded to Emma Stone’s interest in competing, hinting they’re looking out for her next application.

The megastar stunned fans by expressing her sincere desire to be on Jeopardy!, not Celebrity Jeopardy!, diligently applying “every June.”

“I apply every June,” Emma, 35, explained in an interview with Variety’s Award Circuit podcast on Thursday.

She’s not interested in the star-studded spinoff with less challenging clues, however.

She clarified: “I don’t want to go on Celebrity Jeopardy!. I want to earn my stripes.”

Jeopardy! broke their silence on the unexpected bomshell a day later by sharing a screen-grab of Variety’s story on their Instagram page.

They captioned the post: “#EmmaStone has us in la la land with this mention.”

They added, referring to the month in which she applies annually: “Good luck in June!”

BRING HER ON!

Fans were buzzing over the game show’s response, agreeing that this was a major hint they were game to pit her against average Americans.

One fan reacted: “This would be incredible. Emma Stone just sitting up there with everyone else. I may not sleep until June to see how her test goes.”

Another comment read: “Waiting to see how her test goes.”

A third fan wrote: “Bring. Her. On.”

A fourth wrote: “So when are you bringing her on the show???”

Though a fifth hater argued: “Celebrity Jeopardy! only. If she approved on regular Jeopardy! after she let it be known PUBLICLY then who’s the next celebrity to jump the line? Many have tried to get on the show and have taken the test annually.”

The news was so splashy that even some super-champions buzzed in, too. Mattea Roach posted on X (formerly Twitter): “She’s just like me for real.”

A ‘DREAM’

The Poor Things 2024 Golden Globe winner stunned social media by making it clear that she has earnestly tried out for Jeopardy! for years.

This isn’t a random whim for Stone, who takes her prep very seriously.

“You can only take the test once a year with your email address, and I’ve never gotten on the show.

“I watch it every single night and mark down how many answers I get right. I swear, I could go on Jeopardy.”

She called Jeopardy! her “favorite” show, insisting it was her “dream” to be a contestant.

Regarding the testing process, she said, “They just say, ‘We’ll let you know in the next nine to 12 months if you got on the show.’ And guess what, I haven’t gotten on the show.”

Currently in its 40th season, Jeopardy! is one of the longest-running game shows in history.

Until recently it was hosted by both Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik, who succeeded longtime host Alex Trebek after his death in 2020.

But last month, Mayim – who stepped back from her hosting duties last May in solidarity with striking members of the Writers Guild of America – announced that she was fired as co-host.

She said she was “deeply grateful for the opportunity” in her Instagram statement on December 15.

Ken subsequently said he “loved working with my Mayim,” was “caught off guard” by the news, and was “gonna miss her.”

Stone can currently be seen on the big and small screens in Poor Things – where she dyed her hair raven black – and The Curse.
