Midway through the game, Karen picked a clue from the category Folklore & Legend that was worth $1,200.

Karen was able to choose it after she answered the $2K clue that Iris selected from the Words & Their Changing Meanings category before Iris did.

Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings, 49, read the clue to Karen and her competitors as it was presented on the monitor.

“There’s a statue of this guy, hammer in hand, outside the Great Bend Tunnel in West Virginia,” Ken said.

Even though Karen picked the question, she was unable to provide an answer.

Michael and Iris weren’t able to either.

All three contestants remained silent, leaving Ken to give the correct answer.

“That would be John Henry, with his famous hammer,” the show moderator said.

OH, COME ON!

Each player drawing a blank at the same time seemed to really irk those who were watching.

Many shared online how bothered they were by the way Thursday’s game show participants played today.

“It is shameful three americans adults qualified to be on jeopardy never heard of John Henry?,” one fan ranted.

A second fan agreed: “Ugh what a mess of a game.”

‘SO ANNOYING’!

The trivia program has been catching flak lately, and not just because of the contestants.

Last month, fans expressed their frustration over the show’s unexpected schedule change due to conflicting programming.

The game show’s airing schedule was postponed due to college football.

Fans were not pleased with the change, taking to an online thread to complain over the network’s “annoying” decision.

“No new episode on in NYC tonight? When’s it airing?” one wrote, opening up the conversation.

“I’m looking through my guide and I don’t see Jeopardy airing tonight, tomorrow, or Sunday. Any idea when today’s episode will be airing?

“(D**n you, college sports),” they added.

“According to this, it won’t be airing in NYC at all, unfortunately,” a second confirmed.

“While I understand that sometimes Jeopardy can be pre-empted due to live events, especially on holiday weekends such as this, what doesn’t make sense is that at 2:05am-2:35am (Sat morning) they are re-playing the episode from Thursday 11/23.

“Why not air the Friday episode that we are missing so we can DVR it? Is there any logical explanation to this?” a third wondered.

“Not on where I’m at in Michigan either,” a fourth claimed.

“Someone I know is a contestant, and I was really looking forward to watching it,” a fifth noted.

“We’re not getting it at all in NYC market. My DVR goes straight from episode 54 to episode 56. I also hate when sports disrupt our Jeopardy…” a final ripped.
