Infinite A.I. Generated ‘Seinfeld’ Simulates What Purgatory Would Be Like for the Real Jerry

On the day Jerry Seinfeld passes away, once he ascends to whatever plane comes next, his maker may deem that the Seinfeld star must properly atone for his sins before he can cross over into paradise. If that happens, Seinfeld will no doubt be sent to a place similar to the simulated nightmare realm of Twitch.tv’s “Watch Me Forever,” an endless fever dream where automated tools, including the popular A.I. Chat GPT, are used to create a continuous, shoddily animated episode of Seinfeld that will only end when the real Seinfeld has suffered for a thousand years.

The realm of “Watch Me Forever” takes the settings of Seinfeld, including the comedian’s famous Manhattan apartment and the stage of the Catch A Rising Star Comedy Club, and distorts them into a blocky, animated pseudo-reality full of wandering husks in the pixelated visage of Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer. Our new protagonists, Larry Feinberg, Fred Kastopolous, Yvonne Torres, Zoltan Kakler, talk about food, travel, their jobs and nothing at all, just like the flesh versions – except the conversations between our blocky heroes are meandering half-thoughts interspersed with a strangely timed laugh track.
