Indian Actress Asha Negi In Workout Gear Is “Embracing the Grind”

Pavitra Rishta star Asha Negi doesn’t take it easy on the weekends—instead the actress works hard on her health and fitness. Negi, 34, shared a video of herself wearing blue shorts and a black sports bra, lifting heavy weights at the gym. “Embracing the grinds on Saturdays 🏋🏻‍♀️. Recharging the soul on Sundays! 🍳🥪How do you spend your weekends, tell me,” she captioned the post. Here’s how Negi stays fit, focused, and ready to take her career to the next level.

Negi’s workouts are focused on building strength. “I do weights, functional, cardio and mobility exercises,” she told Eastern Eye. “Basically, my workouts are a combination of a lot of things. I’ve always worked out, but had a hard time maintaining it, and making it my lifestyle. I initially also used to work out, but the way that I do it now is a lot different. It’s all thanks to my new coach, Mr Rohit Nair – with him it’s become like a lifestyle. I’ve become really passionate about it now.”

Negi practices intermittent fasting, and tries to stick to a low-carb diet. “Earlier I was not that big on diet, but now obviously I am more aware thanks to my trainer for that, also I am a big foodie too,” she told Women Fitness. “I follow intermittent fasting and a low-carb diet, but sometimes I do end up eating rice and home-cooked vegetables, my favorite cuisine has to be Indian but I do relish pizzas and pasta . Italian in general so it’s tough to choose my favorite cuisine.”

Negi enjoys a balanced diet, making sure to properly fuel her workouts. “Nutrition is very important,” she told Eastern Eye. “Firstly, with your workout, I think they say it’s 30 per cent workout and 70 percent diet. And nutrition is very important. You need to take care of what you’re eating. Personally, I love eating. I do eat a lot of junk also. But then I make sure it is a limited portion. And I’m eating a lot of nutritious food also. So yeah, that’s how it works, I think.”

Negi has developed a strong sense of self-confidence over the years. “For me, my strength is my positive attitude and my eagerness to learn more,” she told Women Fitness. “I’m always in the mindset to learn more and broaden my horizon and I think that is my strength, and for insecurities, I still do have them I remember having biggest insecurity of not being able to do public speaking, I used to cancel interviews for this reason because I was so under-confident that how will I manage to speak but overtime I used my strength to overcome it and I think that has made the difference.”

Negi hopes to expand her career internationally. “I can see myself working in the west and I really want to do that,” she told Eastern Eye. “I want to work everywhere. As I’ve said in my earlier interviews, I’ve done a lot of TV already, and want to do OTT and Bollywood films now. I also want to do Hollywood and work in south (India), so I want to work with all kinds of people in my country and internationally, why not?”
