I haven’t shampooed my hair in six months and I love the way it looks now – I just use items from the kitchen cupboard

Shakira hasn't shampooed her hair in six months

THE no ‘poo movement has taken the world by storm as more women are seeking chemical-free ways to wash their hair without traditional shampoos and conditioners.

That includes Shakira Victoria, who hasn’t reached for a bottle of shampoo in over six months and claims she’s “seen such a major difference” in her tresses.

The influencer recently took to TikTok to give an update on her hair, after vowing to eliminate toxins from her beauty routine as much as possible last year.

“I think it got so much better,” she said.

“I can see my curl pattern so much more.

“And to be honest, they could be so much better.

“Although I did not use shampoo or conditioner, I did use heat on my hair because I do just have that insecurity.

“I really want straight hair sometimes, sue me.”

To counteract heat damage, Shakira said she has been “religiously oiling her hair” with a few different oils… including ones you probably have in your kitchen.

She also washes it with a combination of apple cider vinegar and water.

“I’ll just spray that all throughout my hair and wash it off with water – that’s when I want to ‘clean’ my hair,” she explained.

“When I know I’m going to wash it again, I will oil my hair down.”

I haven’t washed my hair in 8 months – people say I must stink bit it’s never greasy, grows really quickly and all thanks to the ‘magic potion’ I use instead

Shakira uses coconut oil and argan oil for the ends of her tresses, and rosemary oil and castor oil for her scalp.

“I have seen such a major difference,” she said.

“I feel like I love my hair so much more now.

“I do straighten it and stuff, so you can see it’s not the best.

“Like, it could be better.

“If you don’t like heat, then you can probably get better results.

“I’m happy with my results and I’ll probably try to use less heat.”

If you’re not keen to go no ‘poo, opting for a shampoo and conditioner that are free from toxins or sulphates will help support your hair’s natural oils.

What often happens with those containing harsh chemicals is that they will strip your hair of its natural lubricants, forcing the scalp to work overtime to replenish it.
