Hunter King, star of The Young and the Restless, is spending time in gorgeous Oahu, Hawaii. Naturally, this means she’s hitting the beach, and breaking out the swimwear. In August 2021, King revealed to Soap Opera Network that she would be stepping down from her role in the main cast of The Young And The Restless. King says that she wanted to focus on her college courses. “I’m taking an accelerated math class that’s only six weeks long, but next quarter, I’ll be taking a lot more classes. As of right now, my major will be psychology. And hopefully, I’ll be working that in with acting, but I’m in the pursuit of learning as much as I can and constantly growing as a person.”
King’s departure from The Young And The Restless was not just to focus on her studies. She also wanted to help others who have struggled with mental health issues. She says to Soap Opera Network, “Depression is something I’ve struggled with for years, so I’m passionate about finding ways to not only help myself but others in that way. That would be extremely rewarding for me.”
King says to Soap Opera Network that after leaving The Young And The Restless, she wants to try new things. She says that she is in no rush to find her next path, and is taking it day by day. “I also went to Europe for a while and I’m also auditioning but I feel like I’m at a weird crossroads in my life of, ‘What do I want to do next?’ I’m just taking it day by day of exploring what options are out there for me. I have a lot of things brewing, so it’s about finding out which one is the most interesting to me.”
King is a big fan of going hiking, and she is making sure to check out the popular hiking spots while she’s in Hawaii. King posted this stunning series of photos on Instagram of herself and her friends finishing a hike, with the ocean view in sight. She captioned the post, “Is she taking in the view, or hiding her boob sweat? The world will never know.”
King has a Golden Retriever names Poppy, who she prominently features on her Instagram. King loves to do activities with Poppy, and posts photos and videos of the things they do together. She posted this photo of the two of them going for a walk on the beach, captioning it, “She’s only hangin out with me ’cause I have Nilla wafers in my pocket.” She also posted this set of photos of the two of them walking in a field, with the caption, “Me & my best friend, (not so sure what’s goin on w my hair…thank god dogs love unconditionally).”
