Kalil may be a swimsuit model, but that doesn’t mean she can’t indulge from time to time. She says that the SI editor encourages it at the SI Sports Person Of The Year event. “When it comes to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, [our editor], MJ Day, says when you book SI Swimsuit, you should eat a sandwich! They want you to be who you are. They don’t want you to be what is unachievable. You should be who you are! I could eat Taco Bell the day of my shoot and they would be just fine with it.”

Kalil worked hard for her modeling career. And she is making sure to be appreciative of it. She tells The New York Post, “I’m very grateful, and not just because it’s a chance to be like, ‘haters, I did it!’ But because I’m literally living my dream.”

Kalil makes sure to take care of her skin. She revealed some of her secrets to SI.com. “As a redhead, I have very sensitive skin,” she says. Kalil says that she has to be careful when it comes to choosing different skincare options. “One wrong product, and I’m peeling or red or itchy or breaking out! I also have a retinol allergy, so most anti-aging products will leave me with nothing but a rash.

Kalil revealed her skincare routine and favorite products to SI.com. “I now have a routine I do every single day and night! It begins with CeraVe face wash for normal to dry skin followed by SkinCeuticals CE serum followed by The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid serum. Next, I use the SkinMedica TNS Essential serum. After that, my clindamycin lotion from my dermatologist followed my First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. I finish with a night cream by Sobel SkinRx called Bio Hyaluronic moisturizing cream and my Latisse (only at night).”

Kalil tells Husskie that she makes sure to workout whenever she has time. “I tend to workout 4-5 times a week, depending on the week. If it’s a hectic week of traveling, I never beat myself up if I can’t make it to the gym – as long as I keep my body moving and make good food choices, I’m happy! I don’t workout to stay a certain size, I workout to improve my long-term health.”
