ABC hasn’t officially named who the first Golden Bachelorette will be, but some are rooting for Leslie, 64, to be chosen.

Including 2020 Bachelor winner, Hannah Ann Sluss, 27.

She recently told The U.S. Sun: “I would love it to be Leslie, just because I know her and I’m rooting for her love story.”

Leslie was turned away at the altar on the final episode of The Golden Bachelor, which aired on November 30, 2023.

Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner, 72, proposed to Theresa Nist, a 70-year-old financial services professional from Shrewsbury, New Jersey.

On the live show after the finale aired, Leslie spoke to host Jesse Palmer about how she felt.

“I was devastated,” she said. “I haven’t fallen in love with someone for a very long time so it was hard.”

When Leslie asked Gerry where their relationship went wrong, he said: “It didn’t really go wrong, Leslie.”

“It was just better with someone else.”

‘DISAPPOINTING’ DECISION

Gerry was slammed by one of Leslie’s family members in an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun.

The retired restaurateur dumped the personal trainer during an emotional conversation in her hotel room in Costa Rica during the season finale.

He told her: “When I left, you asked me if there was something I had to say to you… I’ve kind of made a decision about how I want to go about this and I have fallen in love with Theresa and that’s the direction I’m going to take.”

Her sadness turned to anger as she questioned if everything he had told her the other night, including that he loved her, was a lie.

Gerry claimed it “wasn’t a lie” and said at the time, it was the truth.

Leslie went on to say that he led her down a path that made it seem like it was going to be her he proposed to.

A family member who spoke to us, we left their name out to protect their privacy, revealed their opinion on the situation.

“Yeah, I have an opinion [on Gerry]… you don’t say those kind of things to a 64-year-old grandmother unless you mean them!,” they said.

“I was disappointed about that. Obviously, he did [lie].”

The relative continued: “He said you’re the one. He told her that she was the one and he wishes this could be over with.”

‘SHOULD HAVE PICKED HER’

At the beginning of the live finale, Bachelor Nation watched Gerry’s journey end as he enlisted help from his daughters, Jenny and Angie, and granddaughters, Payton and Charlee.

He was left confused not knowing who to pick since he was in love with both Leslie and Theresa and had spent alone time with both of them during overnight dates.

Fans were convinced Leslie was the one, especially after she dropped clues on social media before the finale.

Leslie’s relative was also convinced that she was the winner.

“By the way he was acting and what he was saying to her, it looked like [it was her],” the relative told The U.S Sun.

“And then when it got down to the final three and the final two, yeah, I thought he should have picked her.”

In a separate interview with Gerry’s father, Everett Turner, the 92-year-old revealed he was rooting for Leslie to win as well.
