Earlier this year, we brought you reports that Tom Brady apparently “accepted” that Gisele Bundchen’s relationship with her new boyfriend Joaquim Valente began “years ago” despite the couple not getting legally divorced until 2022.

The famed Victoria’s Secret supermodel recently sat down for an interview with Robin Roberts in which she got emotional while telling her side of the story. Brady and Bundchen, who got married in 2009, share two children.

While Bundchen has never publicly confirmed her relationship with Valente, an alleged source told The Daily Mail that she began dating Joaquim in June 2021, over a year before her divorce from Brady became official.

In a clip shared to social media, Roberts begins by referencing a 2023 interview that Bundchen did with Vanity Fair, in which she called her divorce “the death of a dream.” After Roberts asked how she was doing, Bundchen then got emotional and asked for a second to compose herself.

“Well, when you say…” Bunchden says as she begins to choke up, turning away from the camera. “Sorry, guys, I didn’t know… Can I have a little moment?”

“Everything I’ve experienced, it made me realize what I want, and what I don’t want,” she says. “At the end of the day, if you’re not truthful to who you are, then it doesn’t work.”

Bundchen’s full interview with  Roberts — a Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer and Peabody Award-winning journalist — is titled “IMPACT x Nightline: Gisele Bündchen: Climbing the Mountain” and began streaming on Hulu on Thursday, March 7.

Brady has also begun moving on from his relationship with Gisele as rumors in early 2024 indicated that he was dating Irina Shayk, another famed and foreign Victoria’s Secret model. Beyond the initial announcement, the future Hall of Fame quarterback has rarely addressed his split from Gisele and the recent allegations of infidelity.

This year, Brady is set to begin his stint as Fox Sports’ lead NFL analyst after he signed a 10-year, $375 million deal in May 2022.
