General Hospital Spoilers: GH Penned Exclusively by Scab Writers – Episodes Written During Strike Begin Airing

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s some new information on episodes written during the strike and what viewers can expect. Shannon Peace is a breakdown writer who went on strike back in May, so let’s look at what she had to say.

On Instagram, Peace revealed that the July 20 episode was her final one until the strike is over. Now that the last of the pre-strike shows are airing, it’s time to prepare the new scab material.

“Starting Tuesday, the writing team of GH will be watching alongside fans to see what happens… for the sake of the fans, I hope the show is in capable writing hands,” Peace said.

Peace explained that General Hospital would be “penned exclusively by scab writers” – aka writers who cross the picket line – beginning the week of July 24-28.

Although the show must go on, it’s still difficult for the writers who have been forced to take a step back and fight for what they want.

“But I have to also acknowledge the pain of knowing that characters we’ve developed, relationships we built and stories we planned are being handled by others,” Peace said.

Of course, it’s important to keep soaps alive and well. No one wants another situation where daytime dramas have to stop production and get forced into reruns since there might be no coming back from that.

That’s why writers like Peace are encouraging fans to keep tuning in despite the unfortunate circumstances.

“Still, my hope is that if you love GH, you’ll continue to watch,” Peace said. “You can morally support the writers AND keep the show [on] the air!”

Naturally, we should note that Frank Valentini will remain the executive producer during this time and will stay in control of the show’s vision overall.

There should also still be some remaining outlines from Co-Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor for the scab writers to follow.

That said, there could still be some changes in the dialogue and other writing tweaks along the way, so fans will be curious to see what these new scab episodes look like.

The drama will keep rolling along in Port Charles no matter what, but we’ll keep bringing you updates on all the behind-the-scenes news.
