It was the year 2001 when the first Fast & Furious film was released on the big screen. The Rob Cohen directorial stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster. 13 years down the line, we have ten films from the action thriller franchise. The craze F&F films had built with its high-octane car chase sequences, explosive action and fight sequences and gripping stories is unparalleled.

In the last 13 years, many big stars have become associated with the franchise. However, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez have been consistent from the beginning. The tenth film was released in 2023, and everyone thought it was the end. But the film ended on a cliffhanger, leaving the audience curious about what’s next. The makers also confirmed Fast X Part 2 aka Fast & Furious 11, so fans knew the end was far away. However, Vin shared the big news on his Instagram page and hinted that the eleventh film was the last.

In his caption, the Fast X actor mentioned that he had just finished the end-of-the-week Fast meeting with his writers and the entire team. He said it would be an understatement to say that their excitement for the finale is incredibly powerful.

Vin Diesel wrote, “While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all… reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey. Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound. Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen. This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together.”

Meanwhile, Louis Leterrier will direct Fast & Furious 11. Along with Vin and Michelle, the film also stars Jason Statham, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Charlize Theron. Dwayne Johnson is all set to return to the franchise as his character Luke Hobbs appeared in Fast X’s mid-credits scene. The eleventh and the last film is scheduled to hit the big screens on April 4, 2025.
