Big names such as Len Goodman and Matthew Perry were shown, but fans noticed that certain names were omitted by the Emmys.

“A few people I’m surprised weren’t in the In Memoriam (unless I missed them),

“Richard Moll, Marty Krofft, Dick Butkus, Inga Swenson, and Jerry Springer. #Emmys,” wrote a fan on X, formerly Twitter.

Jerry passed away in April 2023 at the age of 79 despite his successful hosting career that spanned 28 seasons.

“Uhhh… where the heck was Jerry Springer in the memorial?!,” another user wrote.

“Sucks the EMMY tribute didn’t include Jerry Springer,” someone vented and added he was, “A pioneer in television.”

“In case you didn’t know, late greats Charles Kimbrough (“Murphy Brown”) and Beth Howland (“Alice”) were married. Also, BOTH were ignored by the Emmys In Memoriam sequences when they died,

“Howland in 2016 and Kimbrough this year, in spite of each playing beloved TV characters,” informed a passionate user.

EMOTIONAL

A few fans gushed over the sequence and said it was extremely emotional.

“Seeing Angus Cloud in the in memoriam #Emmys,” a user wrote, and added a video of a man crying.

“The ‘Friends’ theme song was performed during the In Memoriam segment of the #Emmys. We couldn’t help but think of our dearest, Matthew Perry,” added another.

Ryan O’Neal was another celebrity that was snubbed in the video montage.

Patrick, his son, took to X to express his sadness at this announcement.

‘DISAPPOINTING’

“Wasn’t watching #Emmys but someone let me know they left my dad out of the ‘in memoriam’ … kind of wish I didn’t know right now but I would’ve found out,” wrote Patrick.

Followers replied to his Tweet and expressed their sympathy.

“Disgraceful. He will always be a legend. What a miss by #EmmyAwards,” said one fan.

“Shows, once again, the declining value of Hollywood. Your dad certainly deserved it, bit he lived in the best time of Hollywood and he remembers,” sympathized another.

“They always make a hash of the memorials. I’m sorry they left out your Dad. Just know that many, many people remember your Dad’s work and are grateful for him,” wrote a third.

“That’s disappointing. I’m sorry,” noted a fourth.

“Pretty major omission. Sorry, Patrick,” apologized a fifth.
