We’re already looking ahead to the slate of movies in 2024. High on our list of excitement is Dune: Part Two. All of us can’t wait to see what Denis Villeneuve will do with the second half of Frank Herbert’s novel. We’ve already seen a few different looks at the movie, from new characters like Princess Irulan and Feyd-Rautha, to big action set pieces. The latest trailer focuses on the love story between Paul (Timothee Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya), which offers a welcome shift in the focus while still highlighting the endless war for the future of Arrakis.

The music in this trailer is much more sweeping and orchestral, which adds to the level of romance on display. But, for a romance, Dune: Part Two has more than its fair share of battle scenes and ominous portents. Paul discusses many of the dreams he’s been having. They seem to offer completely different outcomes to the war of the Freman and House Atreides against the Harkonnens. Paul’s relationship with Chani appears to be integral to his journey, which is great because she was little more than dream girl in the first movie.

Paul’s power also comes out in scary ways, as evidenced when he shouts “Silence!” at Reverend Mother Mohiam (Charlotte Rampling). Speaking of scary, Feyd-Rautha (Austin Butler) looks as terrifying as a character can. Not only fighting other Harkonnens to the death for sport, but slicing the throat of a servant just because. What a jerk, ya know? We know Feyd and Paul will have it out at some point, and that’ll be cool as heck to watch.

Dune: Part Two hits theaters March 1, 2024.
