British-Indian actress Sophie Choudry is preparing for some important events by getting her workouts in early and setting the tone for a great week. Choudry, 42, shared an Instagram picture of herself wearing a white sports bra and green leggings, taking a selfie at the gym. “Big week ahead and I’m ready for it. Are you?” reads the text over her post. How exactly does the star not only look so youthful but also fit and strong? Here’s what Choudry’s diet and wellness regimen looks like.
Choudry never skips breakfast and tries not to eat after 8 p.m. “I wake up in the morning and start my day with a cup of my own detox tea, Fittox, which is really good and I genuinely swear by it,” she told Telegraph India. “It’s a great way for me to start my day. Breakfast is super important, that’s the meal I look forward to. It can be eggs and toast or avocado on toast or almond milk porridge with some berries. I have a green tea with it… Never miss your breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day. Keep your dinner light and try not to eat after 8 p.m.”
Choudry is passionate about Pilates, which is a key part of her workout routine along with weight training. “I am a big fan of Pilates,” she told The Quint. “I have been doing it with Yasmin [Karachiwala] since the last seven years. My mother used to do it in London, so I have knowledge about it since my childhood. It has really changed my life. It has made me healthier and it has made me aware of my body, so I loved this initiative [Pilates Festival of India] because awareness about Pilates is increasing in India. People are curious about it and want to gain knowledge about it.”
Choudry’s biggest health and fitness tip is consistency. “I don’t believe in extreme dieting or extreme workouts,” she told The Quint. “My motto has always been consistency. I feel fitness has to be a part of your lifestyle and it should come naturally to yourself. Then, you will not find it difficult and you will not treat it as a chore. I feel one should work out every day — whether it is dance, yoga, swimming or anything else, make it a part of your life.”
Choudry is diligent about taking care of her skin. “Nothing is more important than taking care of your skin,” she told Hello! India. “Start using an eye cream in your 20s. Don’t neglect your lips or your neck. Never sleep with makeup on. Change your products depending on how your skin feels. Don’t pick on your skin and blemishes; go to a professional for that. Invest in your skin! What also reflects on your skin is your diet and lifestyle. You need to workout regularly, eat right, avoid dairy and refined sugar, and drink lots of water and herbal teas. All of these make a tremendous difference!”
Choudry believes true beauty comes from within. “It’s so much more than just physical attributes,” she told Hello! India. “It’s the positive energy and aura someone carries with them that is magnetic, the ability to be true to themselves and someone with a pure heart—all of these things reflect on your face. That’s what makes some more beautiful than those with just perfect features and not much else.”
