BEL-AIR Takes Us Back to Cali with Season 2 Premiere Date, New Teaser, and Photos

Bel-Air took a lot of TV fans by surprise with its first season. The show, which is a dramatic reboot of the infamous sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, hit Peacock with a completely new take on Will Smith’s story. There was plenty of heartfelt moments, real talk, drama, and intriguing situations to navigate as Will adjusted to living with the Banks family in Bel-Air. The first season left us fans wanting more after Will found out the truth about his father Lou. Now, after months of wondering when Bel-Air season two will premiere, we finally have the answer in a new teaser.

Of course, we don’t get a lot in this clip in terms of plot. But we do get a glimpse at all the main characters as Will (played by the very charismatic Jabari Banks) gives a great voiceover. He talks about life being a series of choices where we push for what we want, set our own rules, disturb the system, and more. And, of course, this show doesn’t miss with music as Belly’s “Man Listen” plays in the background. A perfect choice, indeed. This monologue fits right into the show’s synopsis of what we will expect with Will. He’s apparently “at a crossroads as a new figure comes into his life who challenges what he’s learned in Bel-Air and competes for control of his influence.”

At the end, we discover that Bel-Air season two will air on February 23, 2023. This makes sense considering the show hit Peacock in February of 2022. And, like its first season, we will get the first three episodes with weekly releases to follow. Considering how some shows take literal years to crank out another season, this is awesome news. However, it’s not shocking to see another season. Peacock picked up the show for an instant two-season order. So we will see what goes down this season and how long they can keep the drama going.

While we don’t know exactly what will happen next season, Peacock has given us a peek at a few new photos from season two. Here are a few of our favorites.

Bel-Air’s creator and executive producer Morgan Cooper will continue to operate in that same role this season. But, according to Deadline, the show’s former showrunners TJ Brady and Rasheed Newson are taking a step back to executive produce alongside Cooper, Will Smith, and others. Carla Banks Waddles will be the showrunner for Bel-Air season two. Let’s see where Will’s ambition takes him in this round.
