Antoinette Taus leads launch of recyclable waste-for-cash facility in Parañaque

Actress and environmentalist Antoinette Taus has announced the launch of a facility in Parañaque City where netizens can exchange their recyclable materials in exchange for goods and e-money.

Taus made the announcement Friday, October 7, on her Instagram account where she shared videos which showed netizens exchanging their waste materials with goods and e-cash. Among those accepted in exchange for rewards were plastic bottles, sachet, soft plastics, laminated plastics, cartons and white paper. The process starts with registration, drop-off and weighing of the recyclables.

Get to know the crucial work that they do for communities and our shared environment through @PlanetCORA’s grant partnership with @USAID #CleanCitiesBlueOcean!” she said in her post.

 

 

Taus shared that the project was known locally as Eco-Ikot Center where “residents can now exchange their CLEAN, DRY, and SEGREGATED recyclables for POINTS which can be redeemed for various rewards like rice, fresh vegetables, e-cash, and other sustainable items.”

The former actress-turned-environmentalist also announced the ECO-IKOT CARAVAN TOUR this whole month of October and asked netizens to stay tuned on their social media pages (Instagram & Facebook) for updates on details and locations via: @PlanetCORA and @EcoIkotCenter.

She related that the location for the porject is in Brgy. San Isidro MRF at Our Lady Of Unity Parish, UPS 5, Parañaque City, Philippines and one can use WAZE / MAPS and search for “CORA Eco-Ikot Center Parañaque”.

She asked netizens to just make sure that their recyclables are CLEAN, DRY and SEGREGATED.
