ADELE didn’t become a record-breaking, multi-millionaire pop star by resting on her laurels – and now she’s planning another baby.
Her hubby, Rich Paul, had better get ready, because she is preparing to harness her drive much closer to home when she wraps her Las Vegas residency later this year.
The Someone Like You singer — who has an 11-year-old son, Angelo, with ex-husband Simon Konecki — told fans at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace: “Once I am done with all my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby.
“I want a girl because I’ve already got a boy. I feel like she might be like the person I love the most in the world, but also prob- ably hate the most in the world — that is what I feel will happen.
“She’s going to put me in my place all the time, isn’t she?”
Adele, who secretly married sports agent Rich last year, added: “With me as her mother and Rich as her father, she’s going to be a bossy little queen, isn’t she?”
You said it.
During the gig — her first since a long break for her health — Adele issued a plea to her fans.
After cancelling all her shows in March and April, she said: “I had to be on voice rest. When I say voice rest, I mean silence for pretty much five weeks. Can you imagine me of all people not being able to talk for five weeks?
“The singing, that’s easy. I don’t mind not singing for five weeks, but not being able to talk or not being able to laugh, being on full vocal rest (was tough).
“You end up just sort of hating people and just sort of sitting on your own in your room a lot. If any of you have germs or you are sick, do not touch me when I walk through.
“So if you’re sick, even if you get excited, just be like, ‘Hey’. I keep getting sick, it’s terrible, and that is what the issue is — getting carried away with these shows hugging people . . . tears and snot.”
I’m not sure a baby would be able to show such restraint. And, as all parents know, kids are renowned vectors of illness.
LIL NAS X TOUR HITS SCREENS
IF you missed out on tickets to Lil Nas X’s five-star show at the end of 2022, you now have a chance to see it.
The hip-hop star has finally brought it to the masses in his concert film Long Live Montero, available to own and rent from today on Amazon, Google, iTunes and other providers.
As well as footage of Lil Nas X, on stage during his first headline tour, there are backstage interviews with him.
It features cameos from Madonna and Addison Rae among others and shows him talking about how he fell into music.
He explains: “When I was a kid, I wanted to be a cardiovascular surgeon ’cause a lot of family members had heart problems.”
But on attending university, he says: “I got, like, so bored, I made a song for fun and posted it onto Twitter. I told my parents, ‘Oh yeah, I’m just gonna take a semester off.’”
LIBERTINES HOTEL LOSES £1M
THE LIBERTINES may need to do a stint on TV’s Four In A Bed after losing almost £1million on their failed Margate hotel.
We told last week how they were closing seafront venue The Albion Rooms after almost four years — and now it’s clear why.
Financial documents filed at Companies House show it has debts of £979,358, meaning bandmates Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell are seriously out of pocket.
The company has run up debts of £1,813,838, but the amount is reduced when assets are taken into account.
The four band members and manager Jai Stanley are listed as directors. Libertines co-founder Carl has also racked up further debts after closing down a cafe in the town in 2022.
The firm behind Love Cafe has now gone into liquidation, owing £183,921.
The group went to No1 last month with new album All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade, proving they are still as popular as ever.
I’d bin off the hotel and focus on more new music.
Raye scores a latex winner
RAYE is reddy, steady, go for the biggest summer of her career.
The singer wore this eye-catching latex dress to perform in Sao Paulo, Brazil – which will be followed by a string of appearances over the next few months.
She joined Noah Cyrus and Ayra Starr on the line-up at C6 Festival – then on Saturday will swap the sun-kissed South American city for . . . Luton.
After years of quietly grafting, Raye will headline Radio 1’s Big Weekend at Stockwood Park.
The Brit star will then play at festivals across Europe while working on her second album. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Raye, who won a record six gongs at March’s Brit Awards, pops up at Glastonbury next month.
I’m told boss Emily Eavis is a huge fan and keen to get her on the bill. Sounds like a great idea.
SPARE a thought for poor Nick Grimshaw after he had a crisis while out shopping with pal Harry Styles.
Speaking on his Sidetracked podcast, the presenter said: “A woman in a shop thought I was Harry’s dad when I was with him. His dad? I’m nine years older.
“Even if I was 19 years older, dad is still a stretch. I was like, ‘Sorry Harry, I have to drive immediately to Harley Street for emergency surgery’.”
BEN GIVES J-LO THE FINGER
AFTER a week of rumours, things really aren’t looking good for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
He was spotted out and about in Brentwood, LA, without his wedding ring.
Despite keeping a low profile as he met ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their daughter Violet, Ben was snapped driving in the city with his hand out of the window, putting his bare wedding ring finger on show.
Ben and Jen, above, finally tied the knot in 2022 – two decades after calling off their initial romance.
Sources claim Ben moved out of the pair’s LA home several weeks ago. If true, I’m gutted for them both.
Despite their troubles, it looked like they had finally found their fairytale ending.
Bella’s a rock star
BELLA HADID must have caught something hilarious on her camera.
The American clotheshorse cackled with glee as she viewed her footage while perched on a rock in the South of France, where she is attending the Cannes Film Festival.
With the dedication one might expect from a supermodel, she even used her iPhone at the same time as the handycam to be sure she got the shots she wanted.
Bella had squeezed into an itsy-bitsy blue bikini as she took a break from the film festival to catch some rays.
There’s no chance the Bizarre team would look this fresh at a festival.
You silly sausage, Emily
SHE may be off the booze but party girl Emily Atack still knows how to put on a good bash.
The Inbetweeners actress threw a baby shower themed around her love of sausage roll giant Greggs.
Dressed in a baby-blue dress, she beamed as she partied wearing a Greggs-themed sash which read “Preggs”.
Attending the bash was Emily’s comedian pal Amy Gledhill, her sister Martha and her mum, Afterlife actress Kate Robbins.
Opening up about her pregnancy now she is approaching her due date, Emily said: “Been asked a lot about what my current cravings are in the third trimester. It’s been nothing but home-made banana bread and pears.”
As a seasoned Greggs fan, I can confirm banana bread isn’t on their menu – but if it was I’m sure it would be amazing.
Emily, if you’re reading this, this is my kind of party.
I’m sure no one flaked out of attending.
JAMIE XX, from the band The XX, is warming up for Glastonbury at his very own nightclub.
He is in the middle of a ten-night residency at Venue MOT in South London but, fresh from the success of his latest single Baddy On The Floor, has been keeping it real by riding there on a rented Lime bike.
Bizarre’s Howell Davies went down to check it out on Saturday night and didn’t make it home until 5am, so it’s safe to say it’s a fun night out.
