Sage Steele Confuses Dana White For Joe Rogan On New Pod

Former ESPN anchor had popular podcast host Joe Rogan on a recent episode of her new podcast The Sage Steele Show. Or at least so she thought.

At the conclusion of the interview, Steele — in a misfired attempt at “getting deep” with her interview subject — asked, simply, “What’s Joe Rogan’s dream?”

The only problem, however, is that Steele was not speaking to UFC commentator Joe Rogan, but UFC CEO Dana White, who is the 54-year-old man wearing camouflage pants sitting across from her.

Check out the painfully awkward moment unfold in the below video (we’ve timed it up so it starts at the exact moment when you press play).

Sage then tried to rescue the situation by saying that White and Rogan are “literally the only two people she respects because of they freaking stood up and support others.”

White was the first guest on Steele’s new podcast that she’s hosting for Maher’s Club Random Studios.

Here is what the show is supposed to be (when Steele knows who she’s speaking to), according to its official YouTube page:

“The Sage Steele Show is a weekly podcast hosted by former ESPN anchor Sage Steele. Each week, Sage sits down with entertainers, athletes, business people, and politicians to have deep dive personal one on one conversations that enlightens, entertains, and engages. There’s a whole big world out there that’s not just sports, and Sage wants to talk about all of it.”

Steele is the first podcaster that Maher’s network has hired. In a statement, Maher said that Steele is “the perfect choice to be our first new host because, like me, she pissed off Disney. There’s a certain poetic symmetry to that.”

The press release also came with the painfully corny tagline “Dance like no one’s watching? We talk like no one can cancel us,” which is certainly par for the course when it comes to Maher.
